SLED Account Executive

Reports to: Security Sales Manager

Collaborates with: SLED Nation Vertical Team, RFP Response Team, Local CTC Sales, and Support Teams

Territory: Northern CO and Southern WY

Position Summary: \u0026nbsp;The SLED Account Executive will be a State \u0026 Local Government and Education vertical market specialist responsible for the business development and performance of all sales activities in the local region with a dedicated strategic focus on new business development.

It is expected that the SLED Account Executive(s) will understand all aspects of their vertical market expertise and technical solutions to include industry drivers, business objectives, operational issues, and key attributes of the types of decision makers and influencers. The ability to prioritize and segment customer targets based upon geography, customer characteristics and demographics will be paramount to the success of this position. A successful SLED Account Executive assists with identifying, investigating, and evaluating new business opportunities and alliances that promote the organization\u0027s objectives.

The SLED position is accountable for the development of strong relationships with Convergint\u0026rsquo;s SLED Nation Team (internal resources), solid partnerships with industry influencers (government consultants, coop partners \u0026 manufacturer reps) and alignment with strategic customer clients (end users).

1.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Develops a business plan and sales strategy that ensures attainment of company sales goals and profitability. Provides input beyond own territories and acts as a subject market expert. Understands industry market pressures and customer business objectives, in-conjunction with alignment of unique/differentiated Convergint value with their operational inefficiencies.

2.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Responsible for creating, monitoring, and revising lead generation plans to ensure a substantive sales opportunity pipeline. Finds new and creative ways of engaging with customers. Responsible for capturing the attention of potential customers and presenting new solutions and services.

3.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Conducts research and analysis of market / project opportunities consistent with your market/technology strategy, leveraging available market research analytical tools.

4.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Prepares action plans for effective search of sales leads and prospects. Develops strategies \u0026 underpinning tactics for a successful outcome. Ensures that customers are informed of new product/service introductions and prices.

5.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Works in collaboration with the Cooperative Program Managers to develop mutually attainable sales goals and leverages their member base for active business development opportunities. This position leverages the Convergint portfolio of cooperative purchasing programs as an effective means of procurement.

6.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Works closely with Sales, Marketing, and Product Management to collaborate on market conditions, pricing issues, competitive trends, and industry relevance.

7.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Preparation of proposals/presentations and pro-actively supports cooperative program compliance.

8.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Diagnose and respond to client needs, with written \u0026 verbal follow-up on all aspects of request.

9.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Attends trade shows and industry conferences for educational and customer-oriented purposes.

10.\u0026nbsp; Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes and ensures that they are communicated and implemented within the team.

11.\u0026nbsp; Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.


Job Skills Requirements:

  • Proven sales process, sales skills, and sales results
  • Highly energetic and results-oriented, dedicated team player and communicator with an ability to work under pressure in a structured environment
  • Conversant with products/systems and solutions of Convergint Technologies relevant to the SLED vertical markets and their value propositions
  • Strong verbal/written communication and outstanding presentation skills required
  • Responds effectively to changes in situation or information; ability to influence others and build consensus
  • Ability to work independently and manage sales territory.
  • Strong analytical skills necessary to resolve problems and look for solutions
  • Ability to facilitate a collaborative working environment for customers and team members
  • Driven, self-motivated and results-oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, Bluebeam Revu and PowerPoint

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor\u0026rsquo;s degree preferred in business, engineering or related field or equivalent, relevant experience

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of proven sales experience, including two years successfully selling and managing accounts in the SLED specific vertical.
  • Strong understanding of customer and market dynamics and requirements within the designated vertical market
  • Ability to drive sales activity and close rate.
