As a Business Project Manager/Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Instructor you…

Play an important role in the process improvement across the organization to include planning and analysis by providing timely, accurate, and meaningful input that supports informed business decisions and enterprise performance management and improvement.   

  • Provides critical component of on-going NBME Initiatives which includes project management, technical support of projects
  • As a certified LSS Green or Black Belt, provide internal training on Lean Six Sigma methodology.
  • Along with the project owners, is accountable for achieving the pre-defined results from the projects within the agreed timeline. Projects may encompass business process improvement, digital transformation or organizational change.
  • Build industry/company knowledge and develop a strong understanding of operational metrics in order to serve as a value-added business partner.
  • Deliver Project scoping documents, process flow diagrams, project plans, closure reports.
  • Process analysis, metrics, new or revised process/procedure documents
  • Cost-benefit analysis, risks analysis
  • Syllabi and Lesson plans for Lean Six Sigma training
  • Project communication plan and project status reports

  • Leads the execution of projects of varying levels of complexity that are of value to the organization’s mission.
  • Lead cross-functional teams through all phases, from chartering, kick-off, solution design, implementation, benefit monitoring, to successful closure.
  • Ensures smooth transition of the project deliverables into sustainable routine operations.
  • Builds internal knowledge and skills by training and developing Yellow and Green Belts as needed.
  • Provide coaching support for during all DMAIC phases.
  • Mentors and coaches project teams about the application of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools.
  • Applies principles of change management in order to ensure that project deliverables are achieved.
  • Facilitates the identification, redesign and implementation of all necessary project deliverables to achieve target results.
  • Plans, prepares for and facilitates all project meetings efficiently and effectively.
  • Leads team members to complete assigned tasks within specified timelines.
  • Coaches project team members on project approach, change management and process improvement methodology.
  • Manages project plan, budget, issues and risks.
  • Keeps all team members informed and engaged throughout the project.
  • Facilitates resolution of conflicts and removal of obstacles that will impede successful delivery of the projects.
  • Makes sound judgment for proper escalation to project sponsors.
  • Conducts research, process analysis and cost-benefit analysis to identify growth and improvement opportunities.
  • Establishes process and project metrics. Validates cost and benefit assumptions with stakeholders, resource managers, and process owners.

REQUIREMENTS, Skills and Abilities

  • Demonstrated ability to understand an organization’s strategic direction, to develop relationships and to lead customer-focused projects across organizational boundaries
  • Excellent people, process, communication, facilitation, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning, organizational and execution skills
  • Results oriented, ability to meet and exceed objectives and handle multiple deadlines and priorities
  • Strong analytical and business problem solving skills
  • Able to work independently and within a team.
  • Well organized with an emphasis on time management skills and attention to detail.


  • 5 to 8 or more years working experience in broad business and operational capacities, such as business development, product development, process improvement, financial analysis, etc.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, including leading instructional classes for LSS, is required for incumbents who will be responsible for Lean Six Sigma training
  • Minimum of 3 years project management experience leading cross-functional teams.
  • Minimum of 5 years leading Six Sigma projects with cross-functional teams



  • Bachelor's degree in a related field



  • PMP Certification required. Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt required. Change management preferred.


  • PMP Certification or degree in project management required/ Change Management Certification preferred/ Lean Six Sigma Certification (minimum Green Belt) is a plus and is required for process experts that train on Lean Six Sigma Methodologies.
  • Formal training directly applicable to the position
