In preparation for implementing and deploying its end-to-end, integrated HR, Payroll, and Financials system (Pitt Worx), Pitt is seeking a Change Manager to ensure Pitt is well-positioned to meet end-user communication, education, and service expectations, as well as University system performance and adoption expectations.  The scope of the implementation of the change management will cover the entire University, including regional campuses, remote employees, and contractors. The Change Manager will be required to assess and develop a change management plan required to facilitate, implement, and offer applicable support services in developing Pitt’s change management capability for managing the deployment of Pitt Worx. 

The Change Manager will be responsible for the following: 

 •  Gain an in-depth understanding of organizational, cultural, and change maturity deficiencies and challenges; and devise and implement solutions to mitigate risks and avoid pitfalls while gaining buy-in and organizational support.

•   Develop and deliver communication, education, and adoption plans for identifying and overcoming resistance, constructing a critical mass of “converts,” building end-user system “mastery,” and announcing change effectively. 

•          Deliver framework and tools for preparing the University for change and managing the on-going change during the transformation period. 

•                Design and implement feedback loops to ensure voice of the customer (VOC) and continuous improvement. 

•          Collaborate with Pitt Worx project team to implement change management interventions. 

•       Provide toolkits, assessments, templates, checklists, etc. to facilitate the change management program. 

•   Transfer knowledge to key project team members about how to apply change management skills. 

 •        Deliver take-away tools to help “champions/advocates” and “early promoters” to communicate and affect change at the ground level. 

• Collaborate with project team to identify value realizations and metrics designed to measure organizational effectiveness.

This is a two year full-time, Staff position. 



Master’s degree in organizational change management, organizational development, organizational psychology, adult education, human resources, or a related discipline and higher education experience preferred. Experience in leading change in large decentralized environment preferred. Strong executive presence and ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization including the ability to positively influence change. Critical thinking skills with the ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions and recommend approaches to solve complex problems. Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, effectively prioritize, self-manage, and tolerate ambiguity.
