Legacy Community Health is a premium, Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that provides comprehensive care to community members regardless of their ability to pay. Our goal is to treat the entire patient while improving their overall wellness and quality of life, in addition to providing free pregnancy tests, HIV/AIDS screening. At Legacy, we empower patients to lead better lives by promoting healthy behaviors and offering resources such as literacy classes, family planning services, and nutrition and weight management information.


Our roots began in 1981 as the Montrose Clinic, with specialization in HIV education, testing, and treatment. Since then, the agency has expanded to 10 clinics in Houston, one in Baytown, two in Beaumont, and one in Deer Park with extensive services that include: Adult primary care, HIV/AIDS care, pediatrics, OB/GYN and maternity, dental, vision and behavioral health. We also service students within KIPP and YES Prep schools. Legacy is committed to driving healthy change in our communities.

Job Description

The Clinical Operations Project Manager I is responsible for the coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with the agency’s strategy, commitments and goals.  This individual will lead multidisciplinary teams through changes to Legacy’s clinical services, programs, operational workflows and quality initiatives. The Clinical Operations Project Manager I will be highly organized, capable of providing innovative/creative solutions to complex problems and will possess strong communication (written and oral) skills to lead Legacy’s cross functional teams to successful project completion.

Essential Functions

  • Collaborates with clinical and operational staff on desired needs for the Project including but not limited to clinic and administrative space, equipment and IT needs.
  • Contributes and reviews the project proposal or plan to determine timelines, stakeholders, funding limitations, and procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, ensure proper execution of various tasks needed to make new clinics operational, and timely allotment of available resources to various phases of the project.
  • Team up with the business stakeholders and IT to determine hardware/software needed for new clinics and admin space.
  • Facilitate the development of Project Plan including timelines, milestones/key deliverables and dependencies which will help drive the project from inception to successful completion.
  • Discuss with staff to explain project/initiative scope, individual roles and responsibilities for functions and stages of projects.
  • Assist in identifying Project obstacles and work with stakeholders to create resolutions to overcome those barriers.
  • Provide weekly reporting on the overall status of each Project to stakeholders and executive leadership.
  • Meets project objectives within quality, time, and budget targets, and for managing associated risks.
  • Participate with setting project evaluation parameters.
  • Builds project policies and procedures when necessary to help the efficient operations of the Project Management Office
  • Experience working in a PMO setting is a plus.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows and ambulatory clinic settings is a plus.
  • Experience working with facilities, marketing and clinical teams is also desired.
  • Experience in managing relationships with external consultants and vendors as needed.
  • Must be proficient in at least one Project Management software (preferably MS Project)
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Training Requirements         

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required or substitute with 5 years of related PM experience.
  • Certification as Project Management Professional (PMP) or at least 5 years of Project Management Experience is required.
  • Medical experience (Nursing, MA, etc.) is a plus.                        

Work Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in health care in a multi-site environment required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with ambulatory outpatient services is desired.
  • Clinical experience is a plus.
