The Role

 

We are seeking a Commercial Program Manager (PM) - Mergers, Acquisitions, and Partnerships s to join our growing Corporate Business Development and Program Management Office (PMO) team. This role will have a wide range of responsibilities, including leadership of strategic programs associated with acquisitions and partnerships, as well as other critical business initiatives. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a depth of program management skills, business acumen, financial modelling, and experience with mergers, acquisitions, and integrations.

 

Additionally, the candidate will:

  • Be a strong communicator, both written and verbal
  • Display strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Have a track record of engaging at senior levels internally and externally
  • Demonstrate the ability to deal with ambiguity in a dynamic environment
  • Have a demonstrated track record of leading high visibility technology, commercial, and organizational change projects.
  • Lead the research and profiling analysis for target acquisitions and partnerships.

 

This position offers the opportunity to be involved in the development of a global PMO function in a collaborative team atmosphere to support wider business initiatives.

 

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • PM for pre-close diligence, and post-close operational integration activities, associated with acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Ongoing research and company profiling for target acquisitions and partnerships that address product portfolio needs and strategic growth drivers into adjacent market spaces.
  • Develop high-level business cases and perform financial modelling associated with target acquisitions and partnerships.
  • Program manage strategic partnerships, cross-functionally providing support to product line management, engineering, manufacturing, and other functions as needed for successful execution.
  • Lead a variety of other company wide initiatives central to the fulfilment of PMS’s 5-year strategic plan.
  • Provide ongoing business leadership and guidance to peers, and PMS stakeholders, across the entire lifecycle of assigned projects.  
  • Provide additional PM coaching and mentoring, cross-functionally, as part of a PMS company drive to create a culture of program management globally.
  • Troubleshoot, and implement corrective action plans, when necessary for critical programs and initiatives deviating from plan.
  • Willingness to grow through on-the-job exposure and select professional development training

The Nuts and Bolts

Location – This is an “in-office” position approximately 50% of the time. The other 50% you may work from home. These percentages are estimates with the actual schedule to be determined dynamically as needed to support business priorities. Relocation may be offered for this role.

Travel – ~25% Global Travel

Pay Range

$91,000-125,000 depending upon experience

How we determine what we pay (compensation philosophy)

Particle Measuring Systems determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for the Boulder, Colorado area.  We will evaluate external equity, which is the relative marketplace job worth of jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we to make competitive offers between the minimum and around the midpoint of the range.  This allows the new employee room for future merit increases during review cycles.  There may be times when we will offer above the midpoint.  The decision to do so will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills.  Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and the compensation rates of the employees within the company doing the same position.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a business, technology, or scientific field.
  • Master’s degree is preferred (MBA, MS).
  • Formal PM certification is a plus (PMP, PMI, CAPM, PRINCE2, etc.).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in, or performing the equivalent duties of, a PM role.
  • Must have demonstrated track record of strategic program leadership of M&A and partnership activities.
  • Ideal candidate will have experience with financial modelling and business case analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand how discrete project elements integrate while maintaining overall strategic focus.
  • Experience leading diverse, global, cross-functional teams, with demonstrated multicultural awareness.
  • Experience with proactive project risk identification and management.
  • Experience of working in a PMO function is a plus.
  • Experience working in either of PMS’ core markets of semiconductor and pharmaceutical is a plus.

  • Project management triangle – effective in managing project scope, schedule, cost and quality parameters, and making associated trade-off decisions.
  • Tools - Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project).
