Under our ‘One Town, One Team’ approach to service delivery, you will work in a dynamic cross-functional environment advancing the Town as the place to live, work and play. The Community Asset Catalyst will be responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of a comprehensive integration program in support of significant community assets, with a primary focus on the newly opened Friday Harbour All Seasons Resort.

‘The start of something extraordinary- live everyday likes it’s Friday’-- Friday Harbour is a 600-acre world class-resort on the beautiful shores of Lake Simcoe in Innisfil, offering condominium and townhome ownership, 1,000 boat slip marina, and a 200-acre nature preserve. It will be home to a new hotel, convention centre and Lake Club. Friday Harbour Resort will be Innisfil’s largest employer and home to 10,000 people in the next few years.

A driven self-starter with exceptional skills in relationship building, negotiating, communication, working collaboratively, delivering results and taking on stretch projects beyond your expertise, you will work closely with the companies and organizations that operate our most significant community assets for the mutual benefit of the Town and those communities. Areas of focus include:

  • Establishing interconnected, collaborative and mutually-benefitting policies, programs and protocols between the Town and Community Asset Organizations;
  • Creating guiding principles scoping the future growth, development and vision of all that these partnerships can achieve;
  • Formulating strategic goals and action plans across Town services areas, interconnected to Community Asset Organization’s objectives, to mutually benefit and grow the organizations;
  • Leading a multi-disciplinary team to achieve objectives
  • Catalyzing our ‘Lake Enjoyment Strategy’;
  • Exploring and activating alternate revenue sources for the Town through partnership; and,
  • Streamlining Placemaking Team processes and create stretch benchmarks to facilitate ongoing development of Community Assets.


We are seeking an intrinsically motivated, engaged and charismatic individual who is eager to play a vital role in shaping the future of our community. The ideal candidate will have a University degree in Resort Management, Business Administration, Economic Development, Engineering, or related field, with progressive and varied experiences to deliver on the scope of work identified above, along with seven to ten years’ experience planning, strategizing, directing, collaborating and implementing program/initiatives within a multi-disciplinary environment and across municipal and private organizations. A Valid Class G driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle to use for corporate business is required as is the availability to attend evening and/or weekend meetings or other events as required, on an often/frequent basis. Salary related to experience. Closing date is July 17, 2018.
