CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGER (PM)
PM is responsible for overall planning, management, and execution of work, including accountability to deliver project on schedule and within the established budget. PM simultaneously organizes, plans, and controls construction schedule and execution across multiple trades. PM is also the liaison between all stakeholders. He/she is responsible for coordinating work activities of design professionals (architect, engineers, etc.), contractors, vendors, inspectors, regulatory, and other individuals associated with the project. PM will ensure compliance of all state agency requirements, working closely with internal and external agencies. PM will act independently, exercising sound judgement in approaches, techniques, and methods to successfully deliver project. PM will responsibly communicate with client and leadership on project status related to scope, schedule, cost, and quality.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Project management implementation, activity and resource planning, time management, analyzing and managing project risks, monitoring progress, managing reporting with necessary documentation.
- Provides overall organization and coordination for various project components.
- Ensures coordination and identifies key critical paths.
- Prepares weekly/monthly reports (noting efficiencies gained with specific examples - i.e., reduced lines of code, streamlined operations scripts, eliminated redundancies, systems/processes in which they occurred, significant problems resolved, significant issues unresolved, and upcoming activities.
- Updates Project Management Plans and project timelines accordingly.
- Participates in value-engineering services and project enhancements, as appropriate.
Requirements
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE REQUIREMNTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required - Master’s preferred.
- Five - ten (5-10) years of experience required.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
- Experience with Primavera P6 or ProCore Construction management software.
- Strong analytical skillsets + Risk Assessment.
- Knowledge of fire alarm and fire suppression systems highly preferred.
- Has a working knowledge of construction laws and practices in CA.
- Excellent communication skills, ability to work with multiple functional areas and levels of expertise, ability to identify and mitigate risk, and extensive knowledge/experience with construction management software.
Position is contingent upon contract award…project is for a 3-year duration.
