Correspondent Program Development Mgr

The Correspondent Program Development Manager is responsible for generating incremental opportunities against strategic imperatives through the genesis and implementation of new products / programs. This role will work closely with internal partners and stakeholders to garner approval for these new initiatives, driving implementation through leading cross-functional teams and develop milestones / tracking to measure success. Key strategic priorities include revenue / production optimization, CRA acquisition / strategic market growth, creation of multi-relationship customers, post acquisition relationship deepening and production delivery optimization. The Correspondent Program Development Manager is a strategic minded professional who stays abreast of developments within the Mortgage Industry and contributes heavily to tactical execution of the Correspondent Channel. This individual should have recognized technical authority for Mortgage acquisition, with highly developed communication and diplomacy skills to influence and convince others. This position also has a significant impact on the Correspondent Channel through complex deliverables and providing advice and counsel related to the technology or operations of the business.


+ Works closely with leadership in support of new business development efforts. This role emphasizes planning, organizing, researching, and responding to growth and development opportunities in a uniform manner.

+ Perform deep dive research of new business prospects, including company research, financial analysis, production background/history, value proposition, etc.

+ Support strategic planning process for business development

+ Proactively build trusted and productive relationships within our bank assessment areas to promote and generate business to meet and exceed goals.

+ Provide technical training on lending programs/products to external relationship partners and to internal partners / teams.

+ Manage and cultivate relationships with external partners to increase penetration of Correspondent seller base.

+ Assemble business plans for high priority prospects (competitive landscape, SWOT, differentiation strategy, detailed prospecting plan and resource requirements) and maintain business plan tracking and adherence.

+ Coordinate market research requests/activities for prospects.

+ Prepare prospect meeting presentations (including ordering and managing creative process, deck production).

+ Perform prospect and pipeline tracking duties.

+ Build, monitor and continuously refresh prospect database.

+ Create dashboard for key initiative - and proactively share insights with internal business partners.

+ Assist in coordination across other Citi business units in support of new business.

+ Develop specific business plans, including production goals, for each product and program sponsored and managed.

+ Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.


+ 6-10 years relevant experience

+ Previous Mortgage Banking / Correspondent experience preferred

+ Demonstrated leadership skills, build effective working relationships with internal partners, relationship management

+ Exceptional consulting and presentation skills; ability to probe and listen to help clarify inquiries, gather and present to executive leadership.


+ Bachelor's/University degree, Master's degree preferred
