Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Project manager to provide leadership for design-build projects in the New York Metro area for institutional and agency clients. The PM will be responsible for the day-to-day project and client management for multi- discipline architectural and engineering design services for buildings and facilities projects and teams from the initial planning through the construction phase.
The Project Manager will be responsible for the following items:
Recruit, develop, train, motivate and monitor subordinates to develop the business skill base and ensure projects objectives are achieved
Develop key project documents for the management of projects to meet projects goals
Manage project forecast, costs, and change controls to ensure projects is delivered to budget and meets bid margin
Develop procurement strategy, to establish sub-contractors, tenders, suppliers, etc. for projects to meet business objectives
Carry out risk assessment ( Risk log) to identify project risks to provide cost provisions to ensure total cost is identified
Develop relationships with clients to promote positive feedback for the promotion of return business
Ensure that all activity meets both internal company standards and external regulatory requirements concerning Safety, Health, and the Environment
Ensure project deliverables meet QMS and client quality requirements
Assist bid teams in the development and preparation of bid deliverables
Good understanding of project delivery and ability to facilitate technical discussions when needed
Proven project management experience with the ability to manage a diverse team
Demonstrated ability to negotiate, influence, and manage risk
Proven ability to conduct competitive assessments and price-to-win analysis
Demonstrated ability in working with local and state regulatory agencies
Experience in managing both engineering and construction subcontractors
Ability to mentor staff.
Working with the project Principal-in-Charge throughout all phases of the project to obtain client satisfaction and financial project performance
In conjunction with the Principal-in-Charge, successfully develop strategy, prepares proposals, negotiate Design-Build contracts, and execute project(s)
Communicate with clients and project teams which will include public agencies
Development and management of project schedules and budgets
May include management of teams across business lines, in remote locations and/or management of subcontractors
Business development and marketing support for proposals and presentations
Facilitate team communication, coordination and collaboration to support assigned projects
Collaborator and mentor less experienced employees
Manages portfolio of clients with multiple projects
Responsible for delivering revenues assigned from specific clients as a result of repeat business caused by flawless execution of projects
Consistently delivers profit margins planned
Consistently completes project without write-downs or multiplier erosion
Manages more complex clients and projects
Has decision-making authority and directs other Project Managers in recognizing risk and uncertainty with plans to mitigate and eliminate such
Directs staff to operate and minimize exposure to claims
Supervises and directs Project Managers with multiple projects or program of projects.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :
BA/BS plus eight (8) years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Licensed Architect in New York or New Jersey
Preferred Qualifications :
Successful experience working on projects delivered under a Design-Build contract is highly preferred
Minimum of ten (10) years as a practicing architect
Minimum of 5 years as an architect leading the documentation, construction documents and construction administration of design-build projects for New York metro institutional and agency clients
Works under minimal supervision. Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits.
Strong communication and leadership skills
Software: Revit, Autocad, MS Word and MS Excel
Strong detailing and documentation skills

Offered rate of compensation (for New York Positions only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $155,000 - $180,000.
