Design Supervisor - Electronic Security

1.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Supervises a team of Project Designers and oversees their design and engineering work.\u0026nbsp; Supervisory duties include but are not limited to:\u0026nbsp; mentoring, coaching and developing colleagues.\u0026nbsp; May provide feedback and assistance with interviewing, hiring, planning, assigning and directing work, performance management, and project budget.\u0026nbsp; May oversees subcontractor selection process and work.

2.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Provides design or drawing training and assistance for projects during the development and as-built stages of the engineered drawings.\u0026nbsp; May also work on projects with varying levels of complexity including the most complex design projects.\u0026nbsp; Obtains electronic plans from engineers / architects / owners.\u0026nbsp; Obtains design drawings from sprinkler and mechanical contractors.\u0026nbsp; Creates engineered drawings (AutoCAD, etc.).\u0026nbsp; Prepares record drawings and O\u0026M manuals according to project requirements.

3.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Oversees designers and ensures access to needed rough sketches, schematics, and verbal instructions.\u0026nbsp; Ensures compliance with all Convergint project design, documentation and submittal standards.\u0026nbsp; Ensures adherence to industry standards and codes as required.\u0026nbsp; Supports and maintains Convergint design standards.\u0026nbsp; This position will require the ability to apply advanced drafting techniques and knowledge of practical, electrical and fabrication problems.

4.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Provides support to designers in reviewing project scope, defining product specification, application and electrical requirements for code compliance and AHJ Requirements.

5.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Participates in internal design review meetings as coordinated by the Project Managers.\u0026nbsp; Participates in project turnover meetings with both sales and project team.\u0026nbsp; Provides project team with all documentation, programming graphics, etc. according to Convergint standards and project requirements.

6.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Manages the preparation and procurement of all project material purchases.

7.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Obtains project design information as required from vendors, insurance carriers, owners, consultants and AHJ as required.\u0026nbsp; Obtains and facilitate all project permits.

8.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; Accountable for the communication of design progress, committed completion dates, design scope revisions, and associated costs to the Project Managers.\u0026nbsp; Discusses all anticipated overtime requirements with the Project Managers.

9.\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp;\u0026nbsp; May participate in initial site surveys and/or walkthroughs.

10.\u0026nbsp; Provides operational support for the sales phase of projects when needed.

11.\u0026nbsp; Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
