About The Role:

Reporting to the CTO, you'll become a trusted business partner to Intermedia's leadership. You will be a strategic, consultative advisor who drives innovation and shapes the direction of the tools we use to run our end-to-end operations, tools that combine proprietary systems with SaaS products. You'll build a Governance and Change Management Process that ensures we deliver scalable, maintainable solutions, and an IT Project Roadmap to communicate what will (and what won't) be changing, when changes will happen, and what value proposed changes bring. You can see and communicate the big picture across people, process, data and systems, but you aren't averse to the details. You'll build a team of Project Managers, and together with your team you'll work with Intermedians across the organization to define needs, coordinate resources, identify and mitigate risks, clear roadblocks, deliver projects, and decommission legacy systems.

This role is based either in Ontario, Canada or the US. Remote work OK.

What you will be doing:

  • Ensure execution of program deliverables, on time and on budget
  • Create and drive a full, end-to-end Governance process for our IT System Life Cycle that includes project intake, planning, requirements gathering, design, build, test, training, deployment of new systems, and decommissioning of obsolete systems.
  • Create and evangelize standards for program management
  • Create and lead a Steering Committee that ensures alignment between IT/Business Systems and our colleagues across the business
  • Build and coach a team of IT Project Managers who will be responsible for operating the IT System Life Cycle, working with them to stay at least one step ahead of the business by identifying and mitigating risks, defining escalation paths, and driving project success.
  • Lead the detailed planning of development timelines and resource requirements, highlighting trade-offs and co-dependencies
  • Communicate the corporate strategy and project priorities across the IT organization, to ensure alignment of all teams and functions
  • Measure and report key performance indicators (KPI) that track progress on the key deliverables, and communicate regularly to the senior executive team
  • Partner with Procurement to drive RFPs, negotiate vendor agreements and manage vendor partnerships
  • Assist project sponsors in building business cases that define total costs of ownership, and in measuring the ROI of completed projects
  • Advocate for and successfully build consensus across the entire company
  • Facilitate structured meetings among world-wide constituents

Requirements

What you will bring to the role:

  • 10 or more years of experience in Program/Portfolio Management, including at least 5 years of supervisory experience leading Project Managers
  • Thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle, as well as Agile project management, Business Process Mapping, and Business Case Analysis
  • Successful delivery of complex IT projects that integrate SaaS products with legacy, proprietary systems
  • Demonstrated superior leadership, communication and problem solving skills that permit development and retention of a talented team, as well as influencing, promoting collaboration, and facilitating consensus with globally distributed teams and stakeholders within and outside the IT organization

Bonus Skills:

  • PMP or other project management certification
