The Discover Field Marketing Specialist champions careers at Discover in order to attract top talent. He/She is responsible for driving brand awareness and consideration through recruitment marketing campaigns. This role owns the development and execution of the sourcing strategy for local markets, including identifying appropriate levers to build top of funnel demand and effectively attract hourly candidates (primary local market target) and support headquarter goals for other key talent segments in their community. The Field Marketing Specialist partners with cross-functional stakeholders and acts as a liaison to the field's leadership, performing analysis to deliver data-driven candidate attraction activities.

The role requires passion for local community efforts, expertise in how local jobseekers look for in roles and an ability create outreach programs that convert highly sought-after talent. They will use a data-first approach to highlight the activities that worked and didn't and where best to efficiently attract talent.

This role can be based in Riverwoods, IL; New Albany, OH; New Castle, DE.


  • Acts as the central point of contact for all local recruitment marketing requests and translates those requests into efforts that align to the overall employer value proposition for Discover. E.g. sponsored posts, image requests, collateral requests, event engagement etc.)
  • Executes and leads local recruitment marketing efforts and calendar, maintaining progress reports and provides regular status updates on performance of said campaign efforts to goals (multiple and concurrent efforts)
  • Participates in monthly meetings with local office stakeholders to align on progress towards goals, highlights from current marketing efforts and upcoming programs
  • Manages local school and college outreach efforts - Gains alignment on the list of top schools based on analysis on "where to win" and prior successful outreach working closely with Campus Recruiting to maintain efficient (and not overlapping efforts)
  • Coordinates with D&I team, ERGs and Event leads to ensure a focus on diversity hires, and thorough referral process and alignment to TA goals (e.g. military - Hiring Heroes, women, LGBTQ, minorities)
  • Works closely with field recruiters to best position job posts and outline strategies to promote key roles
  • Supports social media outreach; contributes to the employee blog with on-going (quarterly) content ideas
  • Outlines local test and learn media opportunities within budget
  • Assists with the local employee referral efforts for quality talent

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • 1+ years of experience in Business or operations center

Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we'd also look for:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Communications or Human Resources, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in Recruiting/HR
  • 2+ years of employer brand or marketing experience
