Fundraising Strategic Project Manager

Hennepin Healthcare is an integrated system of care that includes HCMC, a nationally recognized Level I Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center and acute care hospital. SUMMARY
We are currently seeking a HHF Project Specialist to join our team. 
Assists in initiating, managing, and executing strategic projects and initiatives as required by the Office of the Foundation President. Projects include planning and goal setting, campaign management, operational enhancements, board of director management, and benchmarking research. As a member of the Office of the Foundation President, supports relationship management strategy and systems that support the President’s relationships and assists with/collects prospect research in support of the principal gift activities of the Foundation President and key partners. Provides meeting support and complex project management.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Assists the Foundation President with managing relationships with the board of directors and their network, including staffing special task forces and creating materials
  • Crosswalks key campaigns with leadership across the Hennepin Healthcare System and partners with the Growth and Development Department
  • Supports capital campaign committees, including key campaign volunteer leaders
  • Co-creates and assists with strategic plan management and reporting, proactively tracking quarterly outcomes and barriers, work logs, and deadlines
  • Conducts benchmarking, tracking metrics, and reporting
  • Works collaboratively with cross-departmental colleagues to ensure movement and positive results from continuous improvement initiatives
  • Supports the Request for Fundraising Assistance (RFA) process, including maintaining tracking grids, quarterly reports to the board of directors, and gathering RFA submission materials
  • Supports the principal gift fundraising activities of the Foundation President and key partners by collecting prospect research, generating briefing materials, arranging meetings, and creating presentations and other prospect-facing materials
  • Ensures timely debriefing and recording of accurate and sensitive contact reports and updating of prospect records in Raiser’s Edge/NXT
  • Gains and maintains proficiency in using commercial databases, free internet resources, and internal systems to discover and harvest relevant prospect information
  • Facilitates complex project management and tracking of any elements necessary to ensure smooth campaign project management, including opportunities, initiatives, feasibility, and communications
  • Leads or serves on administrative teams as appointed. Support Foundation Leadership Team meetings and tasks
  • Monitors and participates in relevant listserves, publications and professional groups to maintain a strong knowledge of developments in the field of research, relationship management, and project management
  • Develops and maintains ongoing, collaborative relationships with Foundation staff and external partners
  • Develops deep knowledge about HHF and the Hennepin Healthcare System’s programs, projects, personnel, strategic and growth plans, and initiatives
  • Collaborates with Portfolio Management and Growth Department as projects require
  • Works collaboratively with the HHS Executive Leadership Team and proactively maintain relationships for joint efforts on principal gift work
  • Coordinates general onboarding of new staff with colleagues
  • Suggests, develops, maintains, and updates onboarding checklists and materials to empathetically guide new staff through resources and processes
  • Oversees procedures and standards of practice for the Foundation
  • Performs related research or administrative duties and assists the Senior Director of Special Projects and Foundation President as assigned
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Ensures compliance with Hennepin Healthcare Foundation policies and procedures, team values, and diversity, equity, and inclusion
 

 

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree

OR

  • An approved equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Three (3) years of related experience
  • Experience with CRM/relationship management software in a nonprofit setting (Raiser’s Edge preferred)
  • Experience in a fast-paced healthcare environment
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified Professional Project Manager (CPPM), or willingness to obtain

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of a wide variety of software, including customer relationship management and Microsoft Office Suite with the ability to train users in the most effective use of this software
  • Ability to communicate effectively; exceptional and succinct writing/reporting skills are essential
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building and maintenance skills and ability to function well within multiple teams
  • Ability to discern internal and external customers’ needs to ensure the best outcome and benefits for stakeholders
  • Project management skills to coordinate projects across departments or teams and assess organizational needs
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and strategic planning capabilities to identify potential challenges, evaluate and solve problems, and reduce risks to the organization
  • Ability to apply principles of logical thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems while maintaining creativity in problem-solving
  • Meticulous with strong organizational, analytical, and planning skills
  • Ability to work under pressure of time on frequent requests from multiple sources, each having its timelines and constraints, and with all levels of administrative staff
  • Ability to apply an ethical code and good judgment and manage confidential materials and information with scrupulous honesty and discretion
