Job Description

We have an immediate need for a Project Manager at our corporate headquarters in Philadelphia.  This role will assist the Director of Infrastructure in managing various IT infrastructure projects and other IT-related initiatives across the enterprise.  Additionally, the role will be the central point of collaboration in the company for compliance mandates and audits.

Responsibilities

  • Work across multiple technology teams, business units, stakeholders, vendors, and other supporting parties to ensure technology projects are delivered successfully to meet strategic goals and business requirements
  • Manage, control, and lead day-to-day delivery of internal infrastructure-oriented initiatives including definition, planning, financial management, risk and dependency management, acceptance, and closedown
  • Accountability for successful completion of project deliverables and required documentation
  • Interface with management on a regular basis, and customers whenever necessary
  • Work closely with multiple application development teams to facilitate creation of requirements, design, sizing metrics, and related cost of project hardware, software, storage, and resources.
  • Identify stakeholders and define expectations on objectives, deliverables, cost, and timing
  • Create and maintain deliverables including project charters and plans, staffing plans, communication plans, work breakdown structures, detailed project schedules, issue and risk assessment, budgets, resource allocations, and change management plans
  • Manage project status reports, steering committee meetings, and meeting minutes
  • Communicate and present project status to ensure acceptance by all stakeholders
  • Own project work item lists and product backlogs
  • Fix project discrepancies, overlaps, stalled workflows, and other issues due to internal roadblocks or unforeseen external setbacks.
  • Participate in production support analysis and remediation activities as needed
  • Engage with IT leadership to assist in planning upcoming projects
  • Apply  appropriate risk framework (e.g. SWOT) to facilitate risk awareness and mitigation.

Requirements

  • 8+ years relevant work experience as a Project Manager in a custom software development environment building both transactional and analytical systems

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, business management, or equivalent

  • PMP Certification

  • Recent experience with direct hands-on project management of IT Infrastructure projects

  • Significant experience with both Agile and Waterfall methodologies

  • Hands-on development of planning/management deliverables

  • Hands-on usage of Project Management SDLC and Work Item Tracking tools such as Atlassian Jira, Microsoft Project, or TFS

  • Experience managing projects in multiple of the following areas:  Cyber Security, Data Center Moves/Consolidations, Data Storage, Cloud Computing, Disaster Recovery / Business Continuity, Redundant Failover / High Availability, Server and Desktop OS version upgrades, Software and Database version upgrades, Virtual Servers/Desktops, Middleware, Single Sign-on / Federated Services, Application and Platform Rationalization, Enterprise licensing

  • Hands-on experience managing compliance and audits (including SOC2, NERC CIP, and SOX)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to enable and motivate project teams

  • Superior planning, organizational, prioritization, and time management skills

  • Strong communication and presentation skills utilizing tools such as PowerPoint

  • Skills in diagramming and flowcharting utilizing tools such as Visio or Lucid Charts

  • Experience managing external vendors and service providers

  • Comfortable engaging with senior-level business leadership as well as software development staff

Preferred

  • Experience within the Energy/Utility industry, particularly electricity, natural gas, wind, or solar

  • Experience with Infrastructure Service Desk tools

  • Experience with managing projects involving any of the following concepts:  Data Warehousing / Business Intelligence, EDI and other data transfer technologies, Service-Oriented Architecture or Microservices, User experience/interface of client-facing web applications.
