About the Position

Invenergy seeks an IT Project Manager to be responsible for managing the delivery of a range of projects including infrastructure, vendor selections and system implementations.  The IT Project Manager will be responsible for leading medium to large scale technology focused or enabled projects that may be intra-departmental or cross-functional.  The IT Project Manager will implement based on best practices and proven methodologies to ensure timely and effective delivery of project deliverables.        



  • Leads IT projects with overall responsibility for successful initiation, planning, design, execution, monitoring, controlling, status reporting and closure.
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans and status reports. Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Drives activities to achieve measurable outcomes by managing schedule, resource, scope, deliverables, budget, risk, issue, dependency, vendor relationship and communications.
  • Assists in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility.
  • Works with IT or business stakeholders to drive vendor evaluations and selections for new projects and solutions.
  • Manages changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs.
  • Coordinates internal and third-party resources, ensures resource availability and allocation.
  • Escalates problems as necessary to ensure awareness and seeks assistance with resolution.
  • Assists with the enhancement of documentation related to process, SOPs, schedule templates, reports, communication plans, etc.
  • No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position, however the IT Project Manager will manage third party project delivery resources/team.
  • Creates a collaborative environment which allows the team and stakeholders to interact closely.



  • Technical project management experience.
  • Project management skills: create and execute project plans, proactively manage risks/issues, maintain compliance with project management processes, an eye for detail, independently maintain project documentation, drive follow-up on open actions etc.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills: Identifies opportunities or problems and acts quickly and decisively to respond to the situation. Ability to drive productive conversations and team meetings. Active listening skills.
  • Excellent People skills: a combination of skills including an ability to ask penetrating questions, detect unstated assumptions and resolve conflict, be able to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical skills: ability to perceive and analyze problems, develop alternatives and recommend sound decisions.
  • Solve Problems: Assess problem situations to identify causes, gather and process relevant information, generate possible solutions, and make recommendations and/or resolve the problem.
  • Strong team player, able to foster teamwork, collaboration and a positive working environment to the project team.
  • Strong leadership, oral and written communication, and presentation skills to a variety of stakeholders.
  • Track record of managing multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to new and changing business and technical environments.
  • Adept at articulating technical implications to business users/stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to multi-task and juggle competing demands.
  • High degree of professionalism and integrity.



  • Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of experience, education and training.
  • 7+ years in IT project management.
  • Experience utilizing Agile, Waterfall, and a blend of both methodologies.
  • Adept at usage of various tools such as Microsoft Excel, Project, Power Point, Visio, etc.
  • Experience with industry standard project and product management tools.
  • PMP preferred, or other relevant certification/experience.
  • Experience working on infrastructure technology projects a plus.
  • Experience in the energy or construction Industry a plus.
  • Ability to travel periodically.
