The Learning Spaces Technology (LST) group provides a wide variety of AV services to the Boulder campus including AV consultation, design/engineering, integration, commissioning/programming, and ongoing support for a large number of facilities, including over 250 technology-equipped computer labs, classrooms and lecture halls. Our Project Manager (PM) position will help us manage implementation and execution of all projects in support of teaching and learning throughout the Boulder campus. With the application of established project management methodologies and best practices, you will help us ensure that projects are completed on time, with optimal results, and within budget. By managing the scope, resources, time, cost, risk, quality and communications for each project you will help us maintain our focus on responsiveness to the needs of our students, faculty and staff. What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

Perform overall management of frequently concurrent IT projects. 

  • Develop detailed project schedules, timelines, resource requirements, and budget. Coordinate efforts of project members to stay on schedule and accomplish defined objectives.
  • Produce regular status reports to include project milestone status, risks, issues and concerns, and recommendations for action.
  • Anticipate issues and proactively develop contingency plans.
  • Create and execute a communications plan to ensure project coordination with project sponsors, stakeholders, team members, constituents, service and support personnel and the Associate Director of Learning Spaces Technology group, and the LST Operations Manager.

Requirements

What We Require

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field. A combination of education and relevant experience as described below may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
  • 2+ years of project management experience that includes a combination of the following: Managing IT projects through their entire life cycle, including successful completion and closeout. Managing multiple concurrent projects. Staffing and managing project resources in a matrixed organization. Client and vendor management. Risk management and issues resolution. Managing large scale design and build projects, with emphasis on AV project management experience.

What You Will Need

  • Knowledge and expertise in the application of project management methodologies.
  • Ability to manage scope, time and resources using standard commercially available tools such as MS Project, Primavera, VersionOne, OmniPlan, Teamdynamix.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills. Exceptional organizational skills.

What We Would Like You to Have

  • PMI Project Management Professional (PMP), or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certifications.
  • Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) or other AVIXIA AV related certifications.
  • ITIL Foundations v3/4 certification. PROSCI certification.
  • Experience with, or demonstrated understanding of, the distributed administrative nature of a large research university.
  • Experience managing information technology projects that produce enterprise class products and services.
  • Experience managing AV installation, renovation and upgrade projects.
  • Formal training in conflict resolution and/or root cause analysis.
  • Knowledge of and/or formal training in information and communications technology services or applications.

Salary Details

Base salary for this position is market-driven, competitive and based on the alignment of your background and experience with the requirements of the position.
