PERFORMANCE PLANNING

Serves as a primary resource for Information Technology applications project planning, development, implementation, and monitoring with focus on multi-departmental high-end applications. Supports complex implementations and support projects using clinical, financial, business and Information Technology skills.  Manage multiple simultaneous processes, and resources to effectively implement systems and services meeting DCH standards, goals and mission.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides project development, implementation, and planning for solutions consistent with customer requirements and industry standards, especially those involving multi-departmental high-visibility applications and/or technologies
  2. Responsible for teams doing work flow analysis, scope development, implementation planning, defining deliverables, change management processes, and resource allocation activities
  3. Develops project requirements and identifies success factors, while managing sponsor expectations 
  4. Coordinate project activities, while monitoring and controlling project performance
  5. Is the primary source for leading Information Technology transition efforts from project activities to operational support activities
  6. Communicates project details to stakeholders and sponsors
  7. Supports complex implementations projects using clinical, financial, business and Information Technology skills
  8. Serves as an expert-level resource for all Information Technology projects, helping peers to align their projects to DCH standards
  9. Mentor’s Information Technology staff, hospital staff, physicians and physicians’ office staff on project management standards / best practices
  10. Is the key resource for managing large Information Technology projects
  11. Develops and implements cost savings and performance improvement processes
  12. Participates in on-call and weekend coverage as needed

  • Performs compliance requirements as outlined in the Employee Handbook
  • Must adhere to the DCH Behavioral Standards including creating positive relationships with patients/families, coworkers, colleagues and with self
  • Requires use of electronic mail, time and attendance software, learning management software and intranet
  • Must adhere to all DCH Health System policies and procedures
  • All other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years leading projects. Master’s degree and PMP or Prince2 or other project management certification strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrates high-level skills in one of the following:
    • Knowledge of current technologies related to healthcare, reflective of both clinical and administrative systems
    • Skill in systems analysis, systems design techniques, project Management within healthcare financial and clinical applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to make formal presentations
  • Exhibits strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to read, write legibly, speak, and comprehend English
  • Expert Personal computer skills with comprehensive knowledge of healthcare systems and processes
