Learning Manager/Instructor - Project Management

Holland College is initiating a Post Graduate Certificate program in Project Management and is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented learning manager to lead the development of this new program that is scheduled to be offered in September of 2021.

Reporting to the Program Manager of the Business Studies, Tourism and Sport & Leisure Department, the successful applicant will be responsible for:

  • Building alliances with all stakeholders to research and develop a viable, sustainable program that is responsive to industry needs.
  • Curriculum development, including but not limited to, course outlines, plans for instruction, assessments, learning activities, schedules and learning environment supporting materials such as presentations and group activities.
  • Ensuring that all curricula are current, relevant and reflective of current best practices in project management supported by the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) and that all program courses are sufficiently developed and ready for delivery.
  • Ensuring that all courses have a fully developed LMS presence based on internal standards and that books are ordered, classrooms are prepared, and schedules are finalized.
  • Liaising with industry to promote student learning and program relevancy.
  • Performing other related duties as required.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of five years of project management experience is required.
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP) is preferred. Certified Associate in Project Management Certification (CAPM) would be considered in combination with relevant industry experience.
  • Excellent grounding in best practice and emerging knowledge, skills and attitudes in the field with a commitment to lifelong learning.
  • A proven ability to work within a collaborative environment, demonstrating flexibility.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal and problem-solving, conflict and stress management skills
  • Superior communication skills (oral, written and electronic).
  • Experience facilitating learning at the post-secondary/adult level is considered an asset.
  • Recognized industry credentials are also considered assets.

Salary Details

This position is 35 hours per week and paid in Canadian dollars.  Higher end salary would require a Masters degree.
