Logistics Senior Project Manager

The Project Manager is the Single Point of Contact for the execution of a defined project. They will define, plan, direct, guide, staff, budget, resolve, manage, mitigate, schedule, track, communicate, implement, and assess the execution of the project.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

 

  • Promotes the organizational values of Trust, Team and Opportunity and the operating philosophy of SCOPE!
  • Demonstrates safety consciousness at all times and reports safety questions/concerns.
  • Leads the development of the defined project and consults on the timeline and resource requirements.
  • Accomplishes project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities.
  • Consults with management, reviews and reports on project progress, determines time frames and defines the procedures necessary to fully execute a defined project.
  • Successfully manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation and adherence to established project management protocols.
  • Identifies and recruits team members to support Subject Matter Expert (SME) roles for task completion.
  • Define roles and responsibilities of team members and clarify all expectations.
  • Set priorities within the project considering dependencies of the actions items that will drive closure.
  • Develop a cohesive time-line of execution to support both budget and project completion expectations.
  • Identify and communicate project milestones necessary to close the project on time, on budget and with full client satisfaction.
  • Coordinates communications across all lines in the organization for updates and progress reporting.
  • Establishes the cadence of routine and frequent process execution meetings to support the process through closure.
  • Manage the budget, track expenses, and regularly report on status and risks.
  • Manage the risks that may jeopardize the on time and within budget objectives of the plan.
  • Make decisions by assessing the situation to determine the importance, urgency and risks, and make clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the client and organization.
  • Establish contingency plans to mitigate risks that may impact success.
  • Ensure project meets internal and client expectations with respect to quality, budget, delivery time-lines and strategy.
  • Executes, coordinates, schedules, approve all capital expenditures defined within the capital expense budget.
  • Evaluates performance against defined project goals.
  • Mitigate and resolve discrepancies in plan.
  • Identify scope creep and manage within the plan to meet client’s objectives, organization’s expectations and project’s original scope.
  • Demonstrate analytical and organizational skills to achieve the goals of the project.
  • Works independently in various working environments and conditions.
  • Conducts post-project “raise the bar” sessions to capture successes and opportunities for improvement throughout the organization.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Requirements

Required Experience and Education:

REQUIRED: Required Experience and Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business Management, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related operations discipline.
  • 10 years of demonstrated Project Management leadership and engagement.
  • Previous Third Party Logistics Project Management Experience.
  • Must be able to lead through others and establish teams of cross functional members that will champion a cause.
  • Must be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Must have excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess excellent client-facing and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and supporting software packages.
  • Must have strong analytical abilities coupled with superior team building skills.
  • PMP certification.
  • Must practice confidentiality as required.
  • Must possess solid technical background with understanding and hands on experience in third party logistics relationships including startups and continuous improvement projects.
