The person in this high visibility role will be a major contributor in evaluating important strategic business opportunities across Consumer Banking (CB) business units. This person will be a key member of the Strategy & Analysis (S&A) team with the opportunity to influence the future direction of the Bank and each Business Unit.

Responsible for serving as an internal consultant that evaluates emerging business development opportunities in the business. Conducts detailed analysis to identify and evaluate performance improvement opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Co-develops work plans, executes work-streams, and develops fact-based recommendations for strategic problems.
  • Executes against ad hoc leader's requests.
  • Develops a credible fact base and/or business plans to substantiate strategic recommendations.
  • Serves as a thought partner to the rest of the executive team.
  • Co-develops and implements strategies (ranging from broad, division-wide initiatives to a more targeted Business Unit-specific recommendations), supports business planning, explores business development opportunities, and contributes to clear and concise presentations for senior leadership.
  • Drives continual improvement through process discipline and innovation.
  • Proactively identifies and acts on business opportunities and challenges. Anticipates risks and plans for contingencies.
  • Under minimal guidance of a Manager, and/or a more senior team member.
  • Supports the successful completion of strategic analytical projects by performing research, assessing possibilities, and framing the recommendation through presentations.
  • Oversees multiple high-priority projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration.
  • Accountable for the delivery of highly visible, cross-functional projects. These projects are on the radar of upper management and the expectation is that this level would be able to communicate the status of the project at any point in time.
  • Communicate with Functional Area Managers regarding status of specific projects.
  • Must be familiar with system scope and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member, to effectively coordinate the activities of the team.
  • Coordinate the development of presentations utilized by the executive committee.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and project deliverables. Will communicate with Functional Area Managers or higher (including company executives) regarding status of specific projects.

Minimum Qualifications

At a minimum, here's what we need from you:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Arts, Business, Science, or related field
  • 6+ years of experience in Financial Services, Management Consulting, or related field
  • In lieu of a degree, 8+ years of experience in Financial Services, Management Consulting, or related field
Preferred Qualifications

If we had our say, we'd also look for:

  • Master's Degree in Finance, Operations, Engineering, MBA, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience in Financial Services, Management Consulting, or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to structure analyses, problem-solve complex issues, and clearly communicate research, insights, and implications to senior management and other stakeholders
  • Comfortable working in an ambiguous and rapidly changing environment
  • Able to manage competing priorities and communicate expectations
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience presenting to senior leadership
  • Proven ability to interact with Executives Advanced expertise with PowerPoint, Excel, and other relevant software
