The Manager of Project Management Office (PMO) role is responsible for the overall project management function, including managing all aspects of enterprise-level projects within the organization.  The Manager of PMO provides leadership and management of PMO processes to improve the consistency, efficiency and transparency of project delivery in support of business objectives.  The Manager of PMO has direct management responsibilities of project manager and business analysis roles.


  • Manages and leads the day-to-day activities of the Project Management Office with respect to department resources, assignments, organizational and personnel development.
  • Manages all cross-organizational, Enterprise Project and Programs within the company from Initiation through Delivery to ensure projects meet the goals and requirements.
  • Leads the Project Management Steering Committee.
  • Communicates with senior management and cross functional management teams to define, prioritize and develop projects and programs.
  • Defines, implements, and utilizes project management and Business Analysis tools and processes and policies.
  • Hires, trains and develops staff (Project Managers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Project Coordinators, Consultants, etc.).
  • Establishes annual performance targets for staff and the team and conducts periodic performance reviews.
  • Manages resource planning and allocation across projects to ensure project completion targets can be met.
  • Motivates and utilizes each team member to his/her fullest potential.
  • Mitigates team conflict and communication problems.
  • Delivers engaging, informative, well-organized presentations.
  • Resolves and/or escalates issues in a timely fashion.
  • Identifies opportunities for improvement and makes constructive suggestions for change.



Position Requirements

  • College diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.
  • Knowledge of portfolio, program, project and change management associated methodologies, techniques, processes and approaches.
  • Experience in all aspects of managing third-party software vendors from initial contract through project delivery
  • 5 years experience in the project management or business analyst roles as an individual contributor.
  • 2 years of managerial/supervisory experience.
  • 2 years of experience managing portfolios, programs and projects
  • PMP and/or Agile Certification
  • Prior team Leadership and development responsibilities
  • Highly self-motivated and directed.
  • Prior experience managing PPM related tools (e.g. CA Clarity, Planview, Workfront, Clarizen)
