ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kaiser integration Engineer will work alongside other automation engineers and IT and report directly to the Sr. Manager, Information & Technology. Your main tasks will include designing and implementing new and rebuilt manufacturing execution systems and interfaces in conjunction with other automation engineers to ensure a standardized approach, testing plan, and startup process. The Integration Engineer will resolve complex manufacturing systems and will provide recommendations for new technology that may involve proof of concept implementations.
This position requires the ability to perform and multi-task in an ever-changing environment.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for design, testing and implementation of MES systems, including code development, test planning, process and operations coordination, and startup.
- Support best practice initiatives for system life cycle and associated risk analysis and planning.
- Act as Team Lead and direct the group for implementations assigned by management.
- Managing competing resources and priorities.
- Lead or support standard development and testing and implementation best practices for MES and automation.
- Lead or support long-term planning, including an initiative geared toward operational excellence
- As part of Kaiser Trentwood’s I&T departments continuous improvement process, driving improvements to standard processes, MES development standards, and associated user and operator training

Requirements
EDUCATION
A bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in an automation relevant degree, such as Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, automation focused Mechanical Engineering, or Mechatronics engineering.
EXPERIENCE
This individual will possess:
- 6+ years related Manufacturing systems Engineering experience working directly for a manufacturing industry or systems integrator.
- Strong scripting experience in Python or similar.
- Strong troubleshooting/problem solving/Analytical skills.
- Proficiency in design, implementation, maintenance and troubleshooting of the following control systems suites: Allen Bradley RSLogix 5000 and associated equipment, and Inductive Automation Ignition.
- Experiencing working with and troubleshooting automation networking infrastructure and protocols, including Ethernet/IP, OPC UA, Modbus TCP, and other integration protocols.
- Good communication and task management skills sufficient to coordinate complex technical challenges with internal capital projects group and with plant floor personnel.
- Process knowledge sufficient to describe complex processes using technical documentation, Process and Instrumentation Diagrams, and manuals.
- Ability to present solutions based on technical knowledge and past experiences.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision; self-motivated / take on a project and run with it type
- Ability to lead a group including peers, junior staff and external vendors, equipment suppliers, or integrators when needed, in order to execute projects and achieve target dates.
- Ability to work under pressure in face paced environment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Approximately 80% of the job function is performed in an office setting requiring normal safety precautions. 20% of the job function is required in the plant. There is exposure to operating machinery and a manufacturing environment.

- This position requires performing tasks on a computer.
- There will be periods of walking and standing.
