Marketing Workflow Management Product Owner


The Retail Bank Marketing team is looking for a seasoned Product Owner to establish the vision and roadmap for our ecosystem of Marketing workflow management capability, and help us integrate our Modern Marketing ecosystem.

Capital Ones Retail Bank has grown by leaps and bounds in the last couple of years. The Bank has risen up the league tables in deposits and checking relationships, capitalizing on industry-leading products and a unique challenger brand with superior digital capabilities and distinctive cafes and branches. The Retail Bank Marketing team has been on a two-year journey of transformation into a digital-first, intelligent marketing function to unleash the businesss growth potential. Our ~150-person team is made up of analysts, marketing strategists, MarTech product managers, data scientists, designers, project managers and process managersall working together to create the marketing experiences that will drive more and more customers to Capital One Bank.


**Enabling a workflow that balances risk management with marketer efficiency**


The Consumer Bank Marketing Technology team is committed to reimagining and simplifying how our marketers design, create, activate, measure and optimize tailored marketing to our customers/prospects across multiple channels. This role sits at the intersection of our MarTech orchestration platforms, our campaign governance process and our campaign delivery teams in that it will own the ecosystem vision and development of the core workflow and marketing asset management tools that enable our campaign teams to seamlessly develop the campaign intent and creative assets delivered to various channels via our MarTech infrastructure. These workflow and asset management tools are critical systems of record whose data is used to demonstrate consistent and compliant process adherence whenever Bank Marketing is audited.


**Key responsibilities**


+ Develop a comprehensive understanding of how our marketing teams use different tools and platforms to communicate and market, and uncover unmet and emerging needs that could be solved through improved workflow and tools

+ Internalize and incorporate our risk management and audit-readiness requirements into the product vision without compromising usability or efficiency

+ Collaborate with product owners across Bank MarTech to develop solutions that effectively integrate with the broader Martech ecosystem and advance the mission of intelligent content experiences

+ Look for and prioritize "quick wins to balance longer-term roadmap, enabling us to make incremental improvements to the platform that will deliver immediate value to customers and increase satisfaction in the short term

+ Based on market trends, internal business needs and enterprise alignment, develop a vision for how an enterprise creative library platform can integrate with our workflow tools, and chart the course for incremental delivery in the product roadmap

+ Work closely with engineering and design teams, as well as external vendors, to plan and coordinate initiatives to deliver on the vision

+ Meaningfully drive and measure value of asset and workflow management solutions and persuasively tell the story to senior leaders


**Successful candidates will excel in the following areas:**


+ Roadmap planning - Ability to develop a clear vision for the capability area, eloquently articulate the case for your vision, and chart the course to get there

+ Product ownership and delivery - Experience in establishing clear and detailed solution requirements; evaluating industry solutions for fit against technical, functional and cost dimensions; and working with agile oriented technology teams to implement vendor sourced solutions or custom solution design and development

+ Tech and Platform savvy - While this role is not meant to be hands-on in the technology, this Product Owner should understand architectural underpinnings of the solution and be able to lean in and drive the conversation with Tech and other partners on how this solution will integrate into other Marketing platforms and what are the trade-offs, and to define and ensure non-functional fit (performance, availability, monitoring, etc) of the solution

+ Influence - Ability to guide, motivate, and inspire others to think differently and navigate through different parts of the organization to get things done

+ Grit - Determination that manifests in a deep sense of ownership over the scope with which you are entrusted

+ Communication skills - Ability to build a case for pursuing specific solutions from functional/tech/cost angle, and tell your story to executives in an engaging way

+ Detail orientation - an innate gravitation towards the details that separate great from good - youre not afraid to get in the weeds


**Outcomes**


+ Develop deep understanding of workflow needs across Bank Marketing and across channels, and deliver a (set of) tool(s) that meets those needs

+ Develop a clear vision for the future of marketing workflow management, how it fits into the greater marketing technology ecosystem, and an iterative plan to deliver on the vision over time

+ Build strong relationships with design, risk management and technical partners, and work together to sharpen the processes for development

+ Build strong relationships of trust with internal customers, serving as an advisor and advocate for the marketer (user) experience


**Basic Qualifications:**


+ Bachelors Degree or Military experience

+ At least 3 years of Product Ownership experience

+ At least 1 year of managing or launching Products in Marketing


**Preferred Qualifications:**


+ Masters Degree in MIS, Marketing or Product Management

+ 1+ year of experience with Workflow Management tools like Salesforce Service Cloud, Workato, Camunda

+ 1+ year of experience integrating solutions with CMS, DAM, or other related technologies

+ 1+ year of experience using Digital Asset Management solutions

+ Salesforce Admin certification
