Business Unit and Position Summary:

Crane ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions is a division within the Fluid Handling Business Segment of Crane Co, a US multi-national which specializes in highly engineered products in niche markets. Crane ChemPharma & Energy Flow Solutions designs, manufactures, markets and distributes a range of process valves and actuators under multiple brand names for a wide range of applications in a number of industries including the refinery, chemical, biopharmaceutical, and energy industries.

Position Summary

The Pacific NPD Program Manager will be responsible for leading, directing and coordinating cross-functional resources to successfully develop and launch new products within the Pacific portfolio. The successful candidate will work closely with the Business Line Managers, Engineering, Sourcing, Operations, Finance, Marketing, and Customer Service teams to manage projects effectively while mitigating risks to timely and thorough completion. The Program Manager will be responsible for applying the appropriate project management knowledge, skills, tools and techniques combined with Crane’s robust NPD launch methodology to manage the scope, time, cost, and globally diverse resources to successfully bring impactful projects to completion. The position will also act as the lead and owns all aspects of a project such as specifications clarification, maximizing value proposition for the customers, establishing schedules, securing resources, and driving accountability to meaningful execution. Additionally, the Program Manager will administer and track overall program health and will be responsible for implementing continuous improvements on an ongoing basis. The position reports to the VP/GM of Pacific Valves, and be located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

 

Principle Duties:

  • Analyze and establish the scope of the project by forming a team of experts required to effectively complete the project. Assign specific roles to all the team members and ascertain the time for completion of the project. Assign team responsibilities using action plans to manage project.
  • Lead, assist, motivate and manage the indirect team to achieve project objectives through leadership and influence, and fact-based analysis
  • Utilize the Crane New Product Development Seven Stage Gate process working closely with cross-functional, globally dispersed teams at every phase of the project.
  • Maintain and execute action plans and drive cadence reviews to track ongoing performance and ensure project deadlines are achieved.
  • Regularly communicate and provide project updates to ensure visibility of project performance, budgets, schedules, and risk.
  • Meet financial objectives by forecasting requirements, preparing a budget; scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances and initiating corrective actions.
  • Operate within the limits of authority as defined in the Company Revenue and Expense Procedures as adjusted from time to time.
  • Actively minimize exposure and risk on project by developing mitigation plans.

Essential Qualifications / Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Business discipline.
  • Currently valid Project Management Professional (PMP) or its equivalent
  • Minimum 5-year experience in managing global, multi-functional projects preferred
  • Ability to Read, Interpret, and Action Voice Of Customer, Design, and Detailed Specifications
  • Valve industry experience is preferred
  • Familiarity of industry standards and specifications, such as ANSI, API, MSS, ASME desired
  • Proficiencies in ERP system utilization and BOM Selection desired
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Project and ability to query multiple systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate and influence the organization and escalate issues when necessary
  • Experience with project management software.
  • Willingness to travel 15% (includes regional and global travel) and/or work with remote teams in varied time zones
