**NG- Military Internship Program Description:**

As one of the largest global security companies in the world, Northrop Grumman is proud to help our nations military personnel make the transition to civilian careers. Approximately 1/4th of Northrop Grummans 90,000 employees self-identify as veterans, and more than 1,600 are reservists.

The Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (NG-MIP) is an approved SkillBridge Program under Dept. of Defense Instruction 1322.29 .The NG-MIP program is an opportunity for transitioning service members to gain valuable civilian work experience through an individual internship during their last 6 months of service, for up to 180 days. The Northrop Grumman Military internship Program is open to all ranks and experience levels. SkillBridge participants are not eligible for compensation from Northrop Grumman, as they continue to receive military compensation and benefits as active-duty service members.

**Responsibilities for this internship position are:**

Northrop Grumman Corporation (NGC) has developed the Northrop Grumman Military Internship Program (DoD SkillBridge) utilizing the DoDI guidance for SkillBridge. During this program the service member will be on-site at his or her host company performing an individual internship in an entry to mid-level career type role. The service member will be on the job training supporting a work schedule equivalent to 40hrs per week. Outlined below are the Goals, Objectives, and Outcomes for the program.

Goals Provide transitioning service members fellowship-style job skills training during the last portion(s) of their military commitment. This program is specifically designed to offer internships that result in the potential to transition to a full-time opportunity as the conclusion of the training. Interns will serve as a pipeline for high-speed, motivated military candidates into NGC.

Objectives - Service Members who complete the Intern program will be highly-trained, capable, future employees that align to the specific needs of the organization and are prepared to meet the NG mission Defining Possible on Day 1. This program provides

a comprehensive internship experience including professional development, networking with leadership, and training specifically focused on NG leadership principles, company history, customer/stakeholder engagement, product and service overview, and core job responsibilities.

**DoD SkillBridge Eligibility:**

* Has served at least 180 days on active duty

* Is within 12 months of separation or retirement

* Will receive an honorable discharge

* Has taken any service TAPS/TGPS

* Has attended or participated in an ethics brief within the last 12 months

* Received Unit Commander (first O-4/Field Grade commander in chain of command) written authorization and approval to participate in DoD SkillBridge Program prior to start of internship.

**Job Description**

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking experienced and motivated professionals for the various Principal Program Control Analyst (PCA) roles in Business Management. Positions will be located in one of following Mission Systems Sector Maryland facilities: Annapolis, Annapolis Junction, Linthicum.

Ideal candidates must be able to make sound decisions in a timely manner, display strong interpersonal and leadership skills, and follow compliance protocol. This position will interface with leadership, program managers, functional management, control account managers (CAMs), and business managers to provide financial support and analysis to meet program requirements.

**Roles and responsibilities could encompass the following and vary slightly depending on specific position, program, or business unit to which you are assigned:**

+ Generate program performance measurement baselines (PMB) and implement approved changes
+ Perform analyses and prepare reports to ensure program contracts are within negotiated, agreed-upon parameters, government cost control guidelines, and accounting guidelines
+ Perform analyses and prepare program financial reports for internal and external customers relative to program cost incurrence, material tracking, and labor spending
+ Identify and mitigate program cost and schedule risk
+ Coordinate and prepare program financial forecasting and reporting, the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and the Labor Resource Plan
+ Facilitate, monitor, and forecast program financing mechanisms including Accounts Receivable, Advanced Payments, and Performance Based Payments
+ Support program audits, reviews, and fact-finding as requested by program customers, audit agencies, and company management
+ Support program cost estimate development, customer proposals, and negotiation
+ Perform Earned Value Management (EVM) tasks including developing the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and performance measurement baseline (PMB), monitoring and analyzing the Estimate to Complete (ETC), Estimate at Complete (EAC), significant variances, risk management reserve (MR), and financial reserve (FR), and preparing of internal and external status reports
+ Prepare and present complex financial analysis to executive level management and external customers
+ Work cooperatively with the business, functional, and technical staff to address internal and external customer requests Provide guidance on relevant financial policies and procedures
+ Participant in knowledge transfer activities and best practice sharing to facilitate development of the Business Management workforce
+ Provide sector wide training on Program Control, Earned Value, and other financial topics to the Business Management community, as needed

**Basic Qualifications**

+ The candidate must have a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution with 6 years of professional experience in business management, finance, accounting, or related fields OR Master's Degree from an accredited institution with 4 years professional experience as described above. **_Additional directly related experience may be accepted in lieu of degree._**
+ Proficiency in MS Office Suite, specifically a high level of proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, chart generation, VBA macros, etc.)
+ Demonstrated leadership, critical thinking, innovative behaviors, and the ability to multi-task in a challenging environment
+ The willingness and ability to travel domestically up to 10% of the time
+ Current, active TS Clearance is required.

**Preferred Qualifications**

+ Professional experience in a regulated industry such as Aerospace & Defense, Insurance, Financial Services, or Telecommunications
+ An existing understanding of GAAP, US Government Cost Accounting Standards, FAR, and DFARS
+ Leadership experience on a program, a project, or managing personnel
+ TS/SCI Clearance

Salary Range: $79,800.00 - $125,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
