General Purpose:
Holland & Hart is seeking an Operations and Performance Manager to support their dynamic, fast-growing, innovative patent practice. This position takes a critical role within the Patent Systems Group (PSG) responsible for providing support for new and existing initiatives in a high growth team focused on workflow optimization, data insights, performance management, events, and communications. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Build, refine, and maintain data-driven strategic group reports, rosters, performance tracking, and various analyses, including management of monthly FTE allocation reporting and significant data modeling in Excel.
  • Develop, coordinate, execute on, track, and report on the status of projects and operational initiatives, along with the implementation and use of new technologies and procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute performance status reports, including providing accurate and nuanced messaging in coordination with PSG leadership.
  • Optimize and evolve performance status reports, related data, and additional feedback mechanisms to foster transparency, excitement, and growth.
  • Follow-up with supervisors and supervisees to track required meetings and discussions (including quarterly meetings), provide ad hoc data reviews/reports to support these efforts, enforce the use of professional development plans, and associated goals, etc.
  • Lead and coordinate annual evaluation process: manage the group’s annual review timeline, assist with administration, schedule annual review meetings, manage content dissemination, etc.
  • Partner with the PSG Operations Executive to prepare and finalize annual evaluation messages in conjunction with PSG leadership.
  • Assist with mini-review process for new practitioners.
  • Lead and assist in planning internal group events and schedules, including leveraging and working with other team and firm members to efficiently and effectively plan events under the direction of PSG leadership.
  • Lead in planning client events (i.e., those involving PSG practitioners and at least some client employees) both on-site in H&H offices and off-site including at client establishments or at third-party venues, leveraging and working with other team and firm members (such as the Recruitment & Professional Development Director) to efficiently, effectively, and autonomously plan critical events under the direction of PSG leadership.
  • Manage the event budget and collaborate on event schedules and logistics.
  • Draft internal communications and group updates about substantive updates, procedural updates, social/cultural events, etc.
  • Work with PSG leadership to provide and implement strategies for internal growth and optimization initiatives, such as with organizational structure, leadership meetings, etc.
  • Performs other operations functions as assigned.
  • And other associated duties as directed by the PSG Practice Group Leader.

  • Preferred 2 to 5 years relevant experience

Physical Requirements:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee must have the ability to sit, stand and/or walk for extended periods of time; manipulate (lift, carry, move) weights of at least ten (10) pounds; have repetitive wrist/hand/finger movement to work on a computer and/or related office equipment; speak clearly and concisely so listeners can understand; and regularly understand the speech of another person.

Work Environment:

Holland & Hart offers of employment take into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, as well as the position's work location, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. Salary Range -$80,919.39-$134,865.66. A discretionary bonus may be available based upon performance.
