Title of Position: Planning Manager


Crosslinx Transit Solutions (CTS) is a consortium comprised of EllisDon, SNC-Lavalin, Aecon and ACS - Dragados. CTS has been selected by Metrolinx and Infrastructure Ontario to deliver the Eglinton Crosstown Light Rail Transit Project and is seeking highly qualified, experienced personnel to join the team of this complex P3 design and construction project.

 

Job Overview:

This position will be responsible development and analysis of our Master Schedule. In working closely with the Segment construction staff as well as overall Planning team to ensure construction schedules are developed and executed on time, and risks to schedule delivery are identified and mitigated.

 

Job Duties:

  • Develop execution schedules with the support of drawings;
  • With direction from planning management, develop schedule structure that is aligned with Segment wide specification and guidelines;
  • Incorporate all necessary detail into the schedule that captures all activities that are a deliverable over time (Permits/Environmental, Procurement, Engineering, Construction, Commissioning);
  • Ensure schedule is reflective of true execution with buy in from Segment team;
  • Revise schedule activities with subcontractor summary activities when subcontracts are awarded;
  • Resource load all aspects of the schedule dependent on contract type (Hours/Quantities/Dollars);
  • Ensure all calendars are a correct representation of the awarded subcontract or agreed to terms with the client; schedule must contain all interface milestones;
  • Ensure that the schedule represents all changes to both live and baseline schedules to show true representation of any impacts;
  • Run analysis on critical path, schedule variances, Earned Value (EV) analysis and Schedule Performance Index (SPI);
  • Ensure resource loading is reflective of the same quantities and budgets from our systems software (PM+);
  • Run resource curves, cash flows, analyze peeks followed by leveling schedule by reviewing logic and durations;
  • Ensure there are no constraints in the schedule accept for “must finish on” for critical client interface milestones;
  • Ensure all schedule updates and reporting are completed by required reporting cut off with the support of scheduling team and construction input;
  • Create “what if” scenarios with Construction management teams to ensure constant mitigation or value added execution analysis are being conducted;
  • Communicate with subcontractor planning team to ensure schedule updates are being done correctly and are a true representation of what is happening in the field;
  • Import actual units/costs based on data import sheet populated from cost and run EV reporting;
  • Ensure all budget transfers for cost/units are reflected accurately in all schedules based on PM+ export;
  • Audit float paths and ensure they are valid; and
  • Ensure segment schedulers are correcting issues as they are found

Terms of employment:

Full-time, project-based for a set two-year period, commencing in August 2018. This position is based on a 40 hour week, generally Monday to Friday, with some occasional weekend work needed. This position is a supervisory/managerial position and is not eligible for overtime. Annual vacation is 15 days.

Salary Range:

$140,000-155,000 annual salary. This position is eligible for our annual salary review practice which may result in eligibility for bonuses and/or annual salary increases in excess of 2%.

Requirements

 

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience creating Primavera P6 (P6) schedules for large heavy civil/Industrial project following contractual and project guidelines. Able to provide the above using P6;
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience managing P6 schedules that involve relaying information to multiple stakeholders, including experience with public stakeholders;
  • Minimum of 3 years of project controls experience on large scale ($1+ billion value);
  • 5+ years P6 knowledge that is accompanied by extensive knowledge of best practices for all aspects of project management, including procurement, cost, contracts and planning;
  • 5+ years Construction management background managing multiple subcontractor schedules that feed into master schedules.
  • Supervisory responsibilities of Planners within Project Management Office and functional leadership to site-based planners
