Project and Service Assistant
**Description**
Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Project & Service Assistant to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting higher level and more experienced technicians (e.g. Project & Service Specialists) in performing day to day work. Acts as a second set of hands for the technician. Handles CSP and less complex/smaller install tasks. This position is a helper who will provide assistance to complete work required for CSP, service calls, and quoted WOs. Work includes assisting with installations, servicing existing systems, programming, and/or system start-up/check-out. **What youll do with Our Training and Your Experience**
+ Provides assistance to higher level and more experienced Project and Service Specialists. Work may include installs, programs, tests, repairs, and services a variety of systems and equipment which may include security, fire alarm & life safety, and/or building automation with guidance as needed.
+ Drives and operates a variety of equipment, including a bucket truck.
+ Reads basic blueprints, schematics, manuals, and other specifications. Uses standard test instruments and hand tools.
+ Acts as our customers best service provider at all times thereby ensuring Convergint Technologies is the customers first choice for service. Takes ownership of onsite project including safety, quality and performance.
+ Cleans and administers functionality tests on cameras, door hardware and/or other equipment as needed.
+ Delivers parts and completes other odd jobs, as requested.
+ Performs all work in accordance with Federal, State and local regulations as well as company health and safety policies and procedures. Uses solid troubleshooting skills to isolate and fix problems in malfunctioning equipment or software.
+ May advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, installation techniques and standards as well as suggestions for product improvements.
+ Assists with the execution of the technical aspects of multiple projects with varying timelines and budgets including, programming, graphics development, start-up, certification testing, customer training, close-out documentation, and/or on-going technical support etc.
+ Acts as backup for other areas such as Fire Test and Inspect department in order to maintain a high chargeable rate.
+ Performs other duties and responsibilities, as requested or required.
**What Youll Need**
+ Developing exceptional customer focus and ability to work under pressure; ability to maintain awareness of, and seek to meet the needs and wants of the customer without being prompted.
+ Developing technical skills and experience related to building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and/or electronic security systems.
+ Ability to develop basic programming skills and proven ability to troubleshoot problems and look for solutions.
+ Must be a self-starter and work well without supervision.
+ Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude (e.g. works with a variety of hand and power tools such as drill, screwdriver, wire stripper, hacksaw, crimper) and ability to read blueprints and drawings; solid math skills (for some positions, this may include calculating area, velocity, resistance, voltage, etc.).
+ Frequent visits to jobsites are required. Minimal overnight travel is required. Valid drivers license required.
+ Good verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
+ Basic organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
+ Basic computer skills including exposure to MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel).

**Requirements:**
Education: High School/GED or equivalent experience
Minimum Experience: 3 months relevant experience
Preferred Experience: (but not required):
+ Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation, and/or healthcare
+ Certifications: Must have or be able to obtain applicable state and/or local required industry licenses as required by state law.
