Job Details 

Position Title: Project Director

Status: PT Admin Contract (4 year)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Faculty/Department: University of Guelph-Humber

Pay band / Salary Range: Admin 07 / $88,421 - $132,632

What you will do: 

The City of Brampton is has invited the University of Guelph-Humber (UofGH) to move from its present location on the Humber north campus to Brampton.  The city is building a Centre for Innovation (CFI) and part of the discussions involve the UofGH becoming the major tenant at this site. As a member of the Project Steering Committee and working with 4 partners (UofGH, the University of Guelph, Humber College and the City of Brampton), the Project Director has responsibility for steering the transition of the UofGH campus to Brampton ensuring that the project stays on-time and on-budget. The Project Director provides leadership to numerous working groups focussing on all aspects related to the relocation and transition of the UofGH to Brampton, which is anticipated to reach occupancy by the third quarter of 2026. Major working groups include: building design, finance, academic programs, student services, and communication. The incumbent will also work closely with the City of Brampton Project manager ensuring alignment with internal and external partners’ objectives, policies and procedures.

Requirements

What you bring to the role: 

Education/Professional Designation

  • The successful candidate will have a degree in Project Management or suitable equivalent. 
  • Accreditation in Project Management (PMP, PMI or CAPM) is preferred

Experience & Skills

  • 5 – 7 years of proven project management experience preferably in the education or public sector
  • Broad Knowledge of post secondary education an asset- Demonstrated effective fiscal responsibility in addressing cost management challenges
  • Project Management skills and methodology leading projects of medium to large complexity
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate staff and teams - Well-developed interpersonal skills with ability to foster trust, cooperation and collaboration
  • Conflict management skills
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent ability to manage significant issues which attract political/media/community attention
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation)
