Northrop Grumman, Space Systems Propulsion Systems is currently seeking **Project Engineering Managers** to support one of the following Business Lanes:

+ 2 Positions - **NASA Programs Business Lane** supporting Space Launch System (SLS), Launch Abort System (LAS), and Booster Obsolesce Life Extension (BOLE) Program within the Propulsion Systems Business Unit.
+ Managers will be located at the **Bacchus (Magna, UT) or Promontory (Corinne, UT)** facilities managing the Project Engineers located at the Clearfield, Bacchus, and Promontory facilities.

+ 2 Positions - **Missile Programs Business Lane** supporting Hypersonic Programs, Navy D5 Program, and Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) Program within the Propulsion Systems Business Unit.
+ One manager will be located at the **Bacchus (Magna, UT)** facility managing the Project Engineers located at the Bacchus facility. The second manager will be located at the Promontory (Corinne, UT) facility managing the Project Engineers located at the Promontory facility.

+ 1 Position - **Air Force Programs Business Lane** supporting Sentinel, Propulsion Systems Sustainment Contract (PSSC), and Rocket System Launch Program (RSLP) Programs within the Propulsion Systems Business Unit.
+ This position will be located at the **Promontory (Corinne, UT)** facility managing the Project Engineers located at Hill Air Force Base, Clearfield, Bacchus, and Promontory facilities.

+ 1 Position - **Advanced Programs and Commercial Programs Business Lane** supporting a large portfolio of Advanced Programs, Orion, Castor, the family of Graphite Epoxy Motors (GEM), and Amazon Kuiper Programs within the Propulsion Systems Business Unit.
+ This position will be located at the **Bacchus (Magna, UT) or Promontory (Corinne, UT)** facilities managing the Project Engineers located at the Clearfield, Bacchus, and Promontory facilities.

**Role description & Responsibilities:**

The Project Engineering Manager will be responsible for multiple Project Engineers and will ensure Project Engineers are trained and fully competent in performing Project Engineering responsibilities and their associated products. Project Engineers focus on planning, implementation, trade studies, change management, integration of engineering disciplines, risk management, and cross-subsystem design integration. The Project Engineering Manager will ensure alignment with Chief Engineering and Program Management to fully appreciate program scope, priorities, and success; and will ensure coordination and communication with Functional Managers for resource planning and execution within the business lane and across business lanes for organizational success.

**Job Duties:**

+ Responsible for alignment of Project Engineers scope of work with Chief Engineers direction for project execution
+ Responsible for issue resolution and escalation of resource conflicts with other Project Engineers and Science and Engineering Functional Mangers for project execution
+ Accountable for Project Engineering scope execution by their direct report projectized Project Engineers
+ Responsible for Project Engineers scope execution and deliverables according to the established standards, processes, and tools.
+ Provide assessment of Integrated Logic Flows/Integrated Master Schedules/Integrated Management Plans against standards
+ Develop and maintain Project Engineering Standards, Principles and Operating Procedures (PrOPs)
+ Accountable for the training and development of Project Engineers
+ Accountable for the development and management of their direct report Project Engineers development plan
+ Responsible for PE annual reviews and performance rating
+ Responsible for hiring and promotion of Project Engineers
+ CAM responsibilities and EVMS review and oversight as applicable per Program direction

**Experience Requirements:**

+ Strong understanding of solid rocket motor safety, risk, design, development, test/qualification, quality, production.
+ Strong understanding of Agile principles, Program Milestones, Technology Readiness Levels, and Manufacturing Readiness Levels.
+ Capable of providing leadership and development to the technical team
+ Capable of working across organizations internally
+ Candidate must have demonstrated ability to develop Project Engineers to:
+ Plan and execute complex, fast paced projects
+ Communicate technically complex topics and scenarios clearly and concisely
+ Build relationships necessary to function efficient teams

+ Be capable of actively and efficiently working multiple projects

**Experience Preferred** **:**

+ Candidate should have a minimum of 5 years of solid rocket motor experience.

+ Candidates should have a minimum of 10 years in solid rocket motor design and manufacture experience as well as integrated stage/launch vehicle systems experience.
+ Project Engineering experience in a development/qualification/test/production environment
+ Experience or strong understanding of System Engineering principles, disciplines, and tools
+ Demonstrated experience in solid rocket motor safety, risk, design, development, test/qualification, quality, production.
+ Demonstrated experience in Agile principles, Program Milestones, Technology Readiness Levels, and Manufacturing Readiness Levels.
+ Demonstrated experience in training and developing Project Engineers for project planning, risk management, problem solving, problem investigations, and critical decision-making skills
+ Strong understanding and broad application of engineering systems (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, quality, tooling, facilities, software, etc.)
+ Management of engineering scope as it pertains to budgeting and participation in EAC reviews
+ Strong verbal and written communication skills for ensuring Project Engineers are successfully supporting Chief Engineers and Program Managers execution expectations
+ Demonstrated team leadership skills - leader of significant technical projects or investigations and management of multiple program tasks to schedule and budget experience with the proposal process
+ Experience in Lean Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, Design for Manufacturability

**Education/Certifications**

+ BS degree in Engineering required
+ PhD with 9 yrs experience, MS degree with 12 yrs experience, or BS degree with 14 yrs experience
+ Ability to work with energetic materials as a U. S. Department of Justice, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, firearms and explosives; Employee Possessor desired
+ Able to obtain a clearance

Salary Range: $134,200.00 - $201,400.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
