POSITION SUMMARY:

The Project Manager is responsible for the successful and timely management of a variety of projects, with an initial responsibility for the implementation of an ERP system. The Project Manager will be an accomplished and certified project management professional with solid ERP (Point of Sale, General Ledger, Payroll, Human Resources, Budgeting & Forecasting) implementation experience as well as experience managing non-IT projects such as busines process improvement. The Project Manager is responsible for end to end project management for assigned projects, including project planning and delivery, scope management, trouble-shooting, operational parameters, people management and budget management. As an enterprise-focused project manager, this role reports through the Finance organization up to the CFO rather than reporting through IT.

 

By helping Goodwill execute critical projects effectively and efficiently, this role helps us maximize the dollars we’re able to invest in our mission.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The primary expectation of the Project Manager is to lead successful projects:
    • Plan, execute and deliver projects on time and on budget by managing scope, goals, timeline, quality, risks, budget, and deliverables.
    • Accurately estimate resources, participants, and timelines necessary to achieve project goals, adjusting as needed to balance project success with timelines and budget.
    • Develop and maintain the project workplan.
    • Work collaboratively with project team members and business stakeholders, at all levels, to create ownership, ensure alignment, and support change management efforts.
    • Motivate the project team to complete tasks on time.
    • Develop and communicate progress reports, proposals, project timelines, requirements documentation, and presentations.
    • Provide periodic updates to the senior executive team as well as relevant board committees to ensure alignment with their goals. 
    • Ensure project outcomes and success metrics are established, measured, and met.
    • For technical projects, this role will support all phases of the functional and technical implementation, from requirements and functional specifications, to software selection, testing, training, implementation, and post go-live support.
  • Be  a resource for project management best practice methodology and standards across Goodwill Central Texas. This includes developing the necessary processes and tools.
  • Continually seek opportunities to increase business partner satisfaction and deepen stakeholder relationships.
  • Demonstrate ethics and comply with Corporate Compliance Program.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

None


QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Five or more years of experience as an ERP Systems Implementation Project Manager (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, Workday or similar mid-market SaaS based ERP software), utilizing appropriate tools and resources to document processes, timelines and responsibilities.
  • Experience managing non-IT projects.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, communication, influencing, negotiation, problem solving, and analytical skills in a customer-focused team environment.
  • Highly organized and results driven.
  • Possesses high strategic and operational awareness of Goodwill’s vision, mission, strategy, governance, and resource constraints.
  • Experience in retail industry and / or non-profits desirable but not required.
  • Skilled with Project Management Software as well as Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Visio.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification and/or recognized academic training in project management.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or other related disciplines.

Commensurate with experience.
