Acutronic’s Aerospace Components Division is looking for a Project Manager/Controller to join our expanding teams in Austin, Texas. We are looking for someone who has at least six years of project management experience in the aerospace/defense industry. Our ideal candidate will also hold the PMP certification and have deep experience with Earned Value Management Systems. Can you create and maintain project schedules throughout project lifecycles? For 45 years, Acutronic’s Motion Simulation & Test Division has been the global market leader in the development, design, and manufacture of Inertial Guidance Test Systems and Hardware-In-The-Loop motion simulators. These high-precision motion simulators are used in the aerospace, defense, automotive, and consumer electronics industries to test and calibrate sensors and missiles.

Acutronic’s Aerospace Components Division develops and manufactures specialty components for use on unmanned aerial vehicles and optionally-piloted aircraft. These products are used on next-generation aerospace programs and include a range of electric power systems, servo-actuators, micro-turbines and Hybrid-Electrical-Propulsion-Systems. Acutronic Aerospace offers standard products and excels at designing highly-customized solutions for demanding mission requirements.

Acutronic employs approximately 200 employees across its locations in Austin, TX; Pittsburgh, PA; Baltimore, MD; Switzerland; Germany, and India.

Your roles/responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain project schedules throughout project lifecycles
  • Develop budgets and lead project teams to achieve financial objectives
  • Provide input to RFQs
  • Develop and manage risk registers for projects, including project risks, costs, and mitigations
  • Identify appropriate labor and non-labor resource demand
  • Partner with resource managers to allocate resources to projects in accordance with DPAS
  • Ensure customer requirements and specifications are appropriately captured and communicated
  • Minimize project scope growth through strong change control practices
  • Assess, calculate, and report Estimates At Completion/Estimate To Completion for projects
  • Manage jobs with government clauses including but not limited to DFAR and FARS
  • Perform variance analysis for actual results to the forecasting and budgeting reports

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Business, or a related field of study from an accredited college or university required
  • Minimum of six years of relevant experience in the aerospace/defense industry required
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Experience running projects with Earned Value Management Systems reporting
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
  • ERP system experience with an understanding of the entire project lifecycle
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • This is a full-time position. The company operates on a ‘9/80’ schedule which means our employees work 80 hours over 9 business days and have every other Friday off
  • Work is generally performed in an office and manufacturing environment
  • Occasional travel required
