GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

To manage AGV and Materials Handling projects for Transbotics NC while introducing project management processes, disciplines and tools from the Scott group and your experience.

The Project Management role is hands-on with support assistance and to train others into the role as the company grows.

Preferred overview role of Controls and Safety work practices, understanding, compliance, testing etc. of products and services supplied from the Scott USA locations, Marion OH, Charlotte NC. Using current practices against standards and regulations, advice on changes and ongoing required training for the industries and locations. Product development oversight of the related controls areas for products.

The position is based in Charlotte, NC, USA.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

  • Project Manager projects at the SCOTT Charlotte location.
  • Bring engineering experience and support for projects to assist both technically and commercially.
  • Report information to the Operations and Project Directors in New Zealand.
  • Attend and participate Operations meetings, if factory, at customers and via phone / web Scott NZ related meetings.
  • Assist with sales and equipment scoping documentation.
  • Train successors in the requirements and agreed practices of Project Management.
  • Assist with equipment commissioning where required, this is intended to be a minor function of the role as support.

Reporting and Documentation

  • Keeping accurate and up to date records on all aspect of work done, using existing documents and processes, improving process and documentation when necessary.
  • Performing Quality Control inspections to ensure project is complete
  • Perform system run-offs to the satisfaction of the customer while meeting contractual agreements
  • Preparing service reports as necessary.
  • Prepare expense reports as necessary.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty mentioned satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Strong understanding and execution of effective project management best practice and able to effectively communicate this to others.
  • Experienced controls background and able to give guidance and direction to line managers and front-line employees.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
  • Minimum (2) years familiarity with Autonomous Vehicles
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience in a supervisory role or proven equivalent experience
  • Minimum (2) years’ experience in project management or coordination in the automation and/ or robotics sector preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related schooling/on-the-job education in a specific skill area; technical degree or higher may be acceptable with demonstrated extensive hands-on equivalent experience, plus 4 years related experience and/or training. Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.)
  • Skilled in Microsoft Excel, CRM and other Office Suite applications. Use Saviom (PM Software)
