This position provides systems and services to support ASCD client and internal business processes and executes both project management and business analyst activities for ASCD projects. This role is responsible for the scoping, planning, and the execution and/or implementations of projects that will have a direct impact on revenue, for a variety of business units and programs.   

This is not an IT-related position.  Primarily, it is project management, analysis and reporting.


  • Leads the timely delivery of all projects and ensure all are in scope, on schedule, in budget, with quality, and achieving the project objectives.
  • Elicits requirements using interviews, requirements workshops, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, wireframes and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluates information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true business needs.
  • Researches, evaluates and stays current with emerging tools, techniques and technologies for solving business problems.
  • Establishes a rapport with the business owner by providing consultative project management and business analyst services.
  • Collaborates with business owners to get an understanding of the business goals and objectives for projects.
  • Leads stakeholder analysis to identify key stakeholders, their goals and objectives and expectations for the project.
  • Communicates scope, business goals and objectives, project success metrics to the project team.
  • Creates project schedules, using Microsoft Project, that include project tasks, milestones, dependencies, constraints, and resources.
  • Provides clear direction to the team members on their tasks and on how to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Promotes the flow of information among all participants and work independently with the project team, SME’s (subject matter experts) and stakeholders to solve issues.
  • Leads risk analysis, that includes both business and technical risks, and the creation of a risk management plan.
  • Collaborates with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision and analyze tradeoffs between usability and performance needs.
  • Prepares timely and accurate status reporting for executive leadership, project sponsors and stakeholders.
  • Manages the project to the approved budget and monitor change requests for impacts to the budget.
  • Encourages effective communications and relationships between customers and project team members are maintained.
  • Performs as the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
  • Guides the project team in following prescribed best practice methods for system design, development and testing for delivering a quality product.





  • A four-year college degree in a related field of study is preferred.
  • PMP certification a plus.
  • Three to five years of experience as an analyst on SalesForce, FinancialForce and technical support of the Force.com platform at ASCD.

Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Project and other project management tools.
  • Ability to translate functional requirements and technology needs into layman’s terms and work with nontechnical staff to define needs.
  • Strong analytical skills including the ability to tackle new subject matter and grasp it quickly, and a thorough understanding of how to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements.
  • Skilled in requirements analysis tools and techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize a demanding workload and tight timelines.
  • Interpersonal skills are essential in this environment that emphasizes work in project teams.
  • Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts.
  • Ability to lead disparate teams on large global projects.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills that keep the project moving forward to a successful completion.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to learn and use web-based office applications for online collaboration, document/content management, and intranet management.


  • Six or more years’ experience with increasing responsibility in Information Systems Development, business analysis and project management.
  • Four or more years’ experience managing application development and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) implementation and integration projects.

Salary Range:  $70,000 - $75,000
