Project Manager

We are looking for a full time, temporary Project Manager to oversee an innovative initiative focused on solving complex mental health issues. The role involves working with a group of clinical professionals and managing all aspects of the project lifecycle through to completion. The Project Manager works out of our centre which is a place of training, research, capacity building, cross sector collaborations and local and international partnerships. This role will report to the Senior Director of Clinical Advancement and Trauma Informed Services.

*This is a 1 year contract position with the strong possibility of extension.

The schedule for this position is generally Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. Some availability in evenings and on weekends may be required. Due to COVID-19, the Project Manager will work remotely on a temporary basis however there may be the expectation to go into the office or travel to meeting locations as necessary and as permissible based on current provincial restrictions.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Execute a thorough and well defined market analysis, feasibility study, and project and business plan.
  • Work with the Development and Communications Department to develop a plan for financial sustainability based on the market analysis and feasibility study.
  • Execute a revenue model, organizational and governance structure and web-based presence using funds allotted to these projects; work with external contractors to support the execution of these projects if required.
  • Provide coordination and administrative assistance to the project team ensuring tasks are completed within the budget, timeline and scope.
  • Meet with clients to take detailed ordering briefs and clarify specific requirements of the project.
  • Delegate responsibilities, monitor project progress and provide status updates and reports.
  • Develop and integrate project progress tracking spreadsheets, diagrams and maps; identify and address gaps or needs.
  • Manage changes and shifts to project scope, schedule and costs.
  • Enhance department and organization reputation across multiple sectors.
  • Build, manage and maintain stakeholder relationships.
  • Attend and/or chair meetings as required.
  • Attend trainings/workshops relevant to professional designation and Agency requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Degree or diploma in related field.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation with current membership in applicable professional governing body preferred.
  • 5 years of demonstrated work experience in project management; experience managing projects from conception to completion with positive outcomes.
  • Business acumen (e.g. in business strategy and contract management).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build professional and productive relationships with clients and team.
  • Strong leadership skills with a focus on inclusivity, critical thinking and problem solving.
  • Ability to coach and develop a small group of direct reports.
  • Demonstrated ability to make sound decisions based on limited information.
  • Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Strong presentation abilities.
  • Experience utilizing software such as MS Office and project related software (i.e. Primavera, Microsoft Projects, and Oracle) and the aptitude to learn new software programs.
  • Experience working with the non-for-profit, health or education sector(s) is preferred.
