Job Summary  

The Association for Supply Chain Management is in need of a skilled Project Manager (PM). The PM will plan, develop, execute and maintain certification projects and deliverables to ensure successful completion and consistency with the organization's strategy, commitments and goals. The Project Manager will support the effort to use and apply project management best practices, concepts and techniques. In addition, the PM will also serve essential functions of business and data analysis for the certification department to advance projects and drive team performance.

 

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

  • Employing established project management techniques, define and manage project objectives, scope, timeline and budget of multiple projects while mitigating risks;
  • Develop business cases, detailed project plans, business requirements, solution design and testing functions and translate into proper system requirement specifications;
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path; 
  • Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule and project costs;
  • Manage and track project performance and deliverables, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short- and long-term goals;
  • Provide key subject matter expertise input to the technical integration of new projects or changes into existing process and technology;
  • Identify and execute appropriate communication methods to meet stakeholder and leadership needs on project expectations and project status;
  • Ensure organizational readiness and conduct project post-mortem at the completion of a project;
  • Develop, conduct and manage a variety of tests such as system, integration, readiness, and acceptance tests;
  • Monitor and provide accurate reporting on the program status throughout its life cycle for all products within the certification portfolio;
  • Understand, track and analyze certification program data: using quantitative, qualitative and analytical skills to create/generate data reports, program update reports and provide recommendations for new ideas and enhancements to support certification and revenue growth;
  • Provide fiscal and product planning input to the department through revenue pipeline reporting and analysis of business intelligence data;
  • Report monthly financial reconciliation of certification orders in database to ensure more accurate monthly and yearend financial reporting and improved forecasting and budget monitoring processes;
  • Serve as a certification department “Aptify Ambassador,” responsible for representing the interests of the certification department in regard to overall Aptify database decisions, proficiency in database processes, training department employees on Aptify database functionality, and relaying important Aptify updates to department staff;
  • Other duties as assigned.

  

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Proficiency in MS Suite, databases, spreadsheets, as well as research using the web;
  • Knowledge of PMI, Agile (SCRUM), Waterfall, and/or Six Sigma (Lean) methodologies;
  • Experience in problem analysis and problem resolution at both strategic and functional levels;
  • Ability to effectively manage all aspects of multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Strong aptitude for working with Association Management Systems (relational databases);
  • Strong aptitude for analyzing data to identify trends and drive team performance;
  • Comfortable with data processing;
  • Experience with the advanced use of Excel (pivot tables, formulas, statistical analysis);
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics and Microsoft PowerBI;
  • Excellent organization and communication skills (verbal and written);
  • Ability to work well with a wide range of personality types and effectively establish and manage sometimes inconsistent priorities of multiple team members;
  • Strong team player, with an ability to exhibit flexibility and a willingness to pitch in where and when necessary;
  • Detail-oriented;

Requirements

Qualifications Required

  • Bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) from an accredited university;
  • 3-5 years of professional experience in project management and leading project teams using Jira or other project management software;
  • 1-2 years of professional experience in data analytics or a related function involving quantitative data analysis

 

Qualifications Desired

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or related certification is strongly preferred;
  • Familiarity with Aptify Association Management System (AMS) or other AMS/CRM database;
