JOB SUMMARY:
Provides data analytics and project management for the Dean's Office in the College of Science. Manages process improvement initiatives that have college-wide impact under the direction of the IT & Operations Excellence Manager. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
45% - Essential - PROJECT MANAGEMENT & OPERATIONS SUPPORT: applies project management tools and techniques to lead and manage process improvement projects, special projects/initiatives and related project teams (e.g., space renovations, business continuity plan) with college-wide impact. Develops necessary documentation throughout projects life cycle to update stakeholders, sponsors, and champions. Assists in establishing deadlines for receipt of data from departments; collects data/responses and summarizes for leadership. Performs research, data analysis, and generates reports for presentations, meetings, and inquiries. Works to ensure prioritization of assigned projects and ad-hoc requests.
40% - Essential - METRICS & DATA VISUALIZATION SUPPORT: Develops, coordinates, and maintains college metrics and necessary documentation to update team members and stakeholders. Creates and manages college metrics dashboards and data visualizations using Tableau in Tableau Server environment. Sees and acts upon new opportunities.
15% - Essential - TECHNICAL DEVELOPMENT & CONSULTATION: appropriates university-provided software tools using operational and technical knowledge to build and expand college-wide productivity tool offerings in support of Dean's Office teams and departmental administration (e.g. Office 365/SharePoint environment). Collaborates with Science IT and Operational Excellence team to broaden capabilities and build efficiencies. Establishes and leads the change control process for college-level system tools.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education - High School or Equivalent - Experience in academic or operational support environment
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Education - 1st Master's Degree - Business, computer science, engineering.
Project management professional (PMP) certification; Tableau certification
Work Exp 5+ years experience leading projects, and/or providing project management and operational support to business leaders.
Project management; operations management; Intermediate to high level of proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Tableau development.
