Summary:  This position will support Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) operations to ensure quality program needs and project timelines are being met.  This individual will primarily be responsible for managing projects and activities in the area of software development and maintenance, process re-engineering, vendor coordination, and business operations.  Other project may include activities of the ACS Quality Improvement Programs like hospital reviews for verification, data integrity with the clinical data registries, and business activities for hospital enrollment and billing.  The project manager will work across applicable CQI teams and vendor(s) to help scope out projects and ensure project deliverables are properly specified and met.

This exempt position will report to the Senior Manager, ACS Registry Operations in the Division of Research and Optimal Patient Care.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project management involving coordination of multiple staff and multiple departments. This can include the creation of project plans, test plans, project requirements and various other types of documentation. This individual will run meetings for the project team and will be responsible for tracking the progress of the projects and keeping all stakeholders informed of status.

  • Management & implementation of projects and databases related to registry operations, IT integrations, and customer relationship management software interactions with internal and external customers. Expected to be the project leader on special projects and act independently to manage these projects.  When appropriate, produce the work product necessary to move project to the next level. This includes the development and maintenance of a project plan, management of a project’s day-to-day tasks, creation of project budget, resource analysis, and management of internal staff and client expectations.

  • Participate in the full life cycle of project development as part of the ACS registry operations team, including the development of process improvement plans, and design and management of the implementation of new product offerings.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university required; Master’s degree a plus.

  • PMP certification a plus.

  • Minimum 3-4+ years of broad, non-technical project management experience required; some technical project experience a plus.

  • Strong experience working with electronic healthcare records (EHR), healthcare databases, hospital quality improvement, and/or customer relationship software desired.

  • Extensive experience with Microsoft Office Products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint), and Internet skills.

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to effectively interact with all levels of organization.

  • Capable of providing excellent customer service.

  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Must be able to multi-task.

  • Display high level of energy and thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • Self-motivated and able to work independently and as a member of a team.

  • Ability to plan and prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to establish strong working relationships with all division teams and management.

Supervisory Responsibilities:  This position is required to make specific work assignments to others and to ensure their timely and accurate completion.

Fiscal Management:  This position is required to provide staff support to the supervisor in the development of the unit’s annual budget, program or project budget.

Physical/Work Environment: Fast paced with significant people interaction. No lifting over 20 pounds, minimal reaching bending and stooping. Performs work in a normal office environment with long hours in front of the computer.

Other Necessary Requirements: Occasional evening or weekend duties and travel for activities such as out of town meetings may be required.
