Position Overview:

We are currently looking to expand our Project Management department, and are looking for a Project Manager with expertise in manufactured building products, and experience planning, controlling, communicating and managing all project resources and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

In this role, you manage the project from beginning to end, coordinating directly with Pre-Sales, our clients (architects, contractors & installers), Engineering and Design teams, Procurement, Finance, and Manufacturing. Oversight includes client approval, fabrication, assembly, and installation of our specialty structural glass systems.

The projects you work on will be unique, and you will be responsible for several projects at a time. You will ensure complete and timely adherence to project schedule, scope, costs and have impeccable organizational skills. You are a quick learner, and can quickly become familiar with the work processes, standards of practice, and design technology used in engineering our structures.

This is a dynamic, challenging opportunity to lead the delivery of structural glass projects as part of a matrixed, multi-disciplinary team. In this role, you will report to our Director of Operations and will closely collaborating with and learn from our two Project Executives, who have deep industry experience.

You should be a self-motivated professional with 6-8 years of progressive experience leading manufacturing projects. This is a full-time, onsite position with ample room for learning, development and professional growth for those who demonstrate the desire and ability to work hard, adapt and learn the complexities involved in the structural glass industry and custom fabrication.

Responsibilities:

  • Internal/external coordination of projects from beginning to end, through design, approval, procurement, fabrication and installation
  • Contract language negotiation, in coordination with the Director of Operations
  • Anticipate, manage and communicate customer expectations
  • Review contract documents & internal drawings for coordination of contracted scope
  • Monitoring performance against budget
  • Project plan creation, maintenance and scheduling
  • Project file maintenance and upkeep
  • Coordination with the shop on items fabricated in-house
  • Coordinate schedules with Procurement for all project materials
  • Convey and document installation methods to glaziers installing our product
  • Physical sample & tech data/warranty submissions
  • Manage project close-out and issue warranty documentation

Requirements

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 years progressive Project Management experience in manufacturing, with exposure to the commercial construction industry. Experience with glass/glazing, the architectural industry and field experience is a plus
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience with steel, stainless steel and/or aluminum manufacturing for the architectural industry
  • Proficiency with MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD
  • Understanding of construction terms, estimating, purchasing, scheduling & planning concepts
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, & scopes of work
  • Excellent business judgement, demonstrated by consistently achieving profitability objectives & strong project closeouts
  • Track record of keeping client and subcontractor relationships in good standing
  • Ability to multitask and handle competing priorities between business needs, organizational issues and sound customer relations
  • Strong sense of urgency and initiative
  • Team player who works exceptionally well in a matrixed team environment
  • Consistency and impeccable attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills (written & verbal), organizational skills and attention to detail

Preferred Skills & Experience:

  • Degree in Engineering, Construction, Manufacturing or an applicable discipline
  • Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
  • Knowledge of Project Management tools and technologies
