CARE is seeking a Senior Project Manager consultant to lead the implementation of CARE’s Global Total Rewards initiative.

The Project Manager will be responsible for leading the implementation of the global total rewards project. S/he manages the day to day activities of the project and coordinates closely with project team members, project sponsors, and stakeholders.  Also, s/he ensures that stakeholder and sponsor concerns or issues related to the project are addressed and/or resolved. 

SCOPE OF PROJECT

Experience and Competencies:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Project Management certification preferred.
  • Extensive experience leading a large-scale implementation required; experience related to Rewards (pay and benefits) is a plus.
  • Extensive experience in an NGO or multinational organization with working knowledge of HR related functions and regulatory and statutory requirements in different countries and/or regions of the world.
  • Experience in compensation and benefits plan design and implementation in global and local market contexts.
  • Extensive experience in project risk management, change management and stakeholder communication required.
  • Analytical and strong organizational skills, with excellent verbal and written ability

Where noted, workstream will be led by internal or external resource and this role will be tasked with managing the intersections of the following:

Global Benefits

Investigate and implement global standards and where applicable arrangements like multi-level coverage options and pooling of identified core benefits.

Analyze and assess the tax implications of proposed solutions. Provide recommendations to inform approaches for implementation.

Workstream lead by external resources – manage intersections.

Global HR System

Implement a global HR Information system.

Workstream lead in conjunction with external resources - manage intersection.

Implementation and Change Management plan

Create an implementation plan seamlessly coordinating activities across workstreams.  Develop and manage a change management plan that includes activities to affect buy-in and adoption of new processes are an integrated part of the project.

Key skills needed:

To ensure success, the candidate will have to have extensive project management especially leading large-scale projects as well as strong risk management, change management, and project governance experience.

Responsibilities:

Provide day to day project management for the Global Total Rewards project including the following:

  • Oversees strategic plan, monitoring and adapting as needed to meet project objectives.
  • Manage cross-functional teams composed of staff and external partners. Special consideration to the internal project team that may have competing priorities - s/he must be able to negotiate and coordinate people resources effectively.
  • Act as the point of contact for all tasks, issues, communications, and updates as they relate to the project.
  • Maintain schedules, budgets, resources and deliverables for project.
  • Knowledge of larger landscape without neglecting granular details while tracking project health, staying alert for risk and resolving issues as they arise. Maintains standards and monitors scope with project quality.
  • Act as the Project Lead for all sub-projects (listed above), coordinating sub-project team meetings, liaising with team members and stakeholders, and providing updates to the Project Sponsor and project teams (as required)
  • Maintain the overall Project Plan (in addition to separate Project Plans as required for each sub-project), including monitoring and weekly status reporting
  • Manage any risks and/or issues associated with the project, documenting and escalating them to project sponsor and teams.
  • Responsible for managing project communication plan and effectively engaging and managing stakeholders.
  • Create a communication strategy that ensures project successes and challenges are shared and actively seek input and feedback from stakeholders through a variety of channels.
  • Develop and roll out a change management plan that includes activities to affect buy-in and adoption of new processes are an integrated part of the project.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership on impact analysis, risk management and resource planning to ensure a smoother transition across the organization (may include pilot program).
  • Other roles and responsibilities as outlined by the Project Sponsors

Requirements

Experience and Competencies:
