The Project Manager (PM) is responsible for ensuring on time delivery of our products and systems to our customers. The PM works closely with the STI Sales Department to anticipate demand and coordinate vendor deliveries, ordering and inventory, production and integration, and product shipment, installation, and training. This role will be responsible for the performance of the project, including managing budgets and schedules, ensuring deliverables, meeting contract requirements and company policies, procedures, and guidelines. Oversight of all project functions including but not limited to kickoff meetings, requirements gathering, design reviews, integration support, solution documentation, after-action reviews, and training. Reports to Director of Product Management.

Key Responsibilities:

Product Project Management

  • Leads, facilitates, coordinates, and tracks day-to- day activities required to ensure the project is completed on time, successfully, and in a manner consistent with organizational goals, departmental policies, established processes, and/or the standard terms and conditions of the contract.
  • Maintains the scope of a project and identify tasks that are out of scope based on the project statement of work (SoW)
  • Conducts an internal program Kick Off Meeting (KOM) to establish the project tasks, schedule, and priority with the performing team. Prepares for, and participates in, program milestone meetings such as Kickoff, Midterm, and Final briefings and other applicable meetings
  • Maintains project budget, timeline, quality, and compliance.
  • Maintains a program master schedule including key program milestones, technical data deliverables and critical path decision gates
  • Prepares reports which identify critical needs, risk, lead times, resource requirements, costs and other elements necessary for project management.
  • Conducts regular program team meetings to review schedule performance, cost performance, risk areas and customer satisfaction
  • Works with team to resolve project work/scheduling problems by reprioritizing activities.
  • Implements functional area work breakdown structure.
  • Manages vendors and contractors assigned to project.
  • Escalates issues that may result in negative financial or customer relationship impact.
  • Ensures supporting project documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
  • Hosts weekly project stakeholder meetings and drives initiatives to meet project goals.
  • Contributes to the continuous review and build-out of project delivery standards and processes.
  • Defines and develops metrics to measure key indicators including value, efficiency, and effectiveness.
  • Ensures customer expectations are met as identified in the statement of work.
  • Coordinates order, system setup, testing and delivery schedules.
  • Leads and manages multiple projects at one time.
  • Streamlines processes and drives continuous improvement in all aspects of the product operations including safety, quality, service, productivity, and overall operating costs.
  • Develops and nurtures cross-functional relationships throughout STI and supply chain partners to achieve corporate goals and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Develops and delivers presentations to executive management as required.
  • Ensures quality standards are achieved and deadlines are met.

Customer Interaction

  • Acts as primary liaison with customer on project matters such as securing customer acceptance, as required.
  • Discusses alternative solutions with customer including contractual changes.
  • Delivers results which achieve lasting satisfaction with customer and achieve financial goals.
  • Initiates contract modifications working with sales team, customer and contracts.
  • Communicates directly with external customers and subcontractors as required.
  • Ensures all correspondence is high quality, accurate and timely and respects the intellectual property agreements in place.
  • Performs other duties as assigned


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline from four-year college or university; PMP Certification preferred
  • 3-5 years of related experience project management experience. Project Management for complex component assembly, a plus.
  • 2+ years of experience in delivering customer-facing projects.
  • Exhibit attention to detail, and have the ability to make logical, timely decisions.
  • Demonstrate self-learning capabilities, problem solving, strong critical thinking skills and taking initiative in a fast pace/quickly changing environment.
  • Experience with Project Lifecycle and Project Management techniques like critical path analysis, resource loading and leveling, Gantt/Pert charting, RACI, Agile & Kanban, schedule and cost performance indicators, risk identification and management, work package management
  • Experience with advanced functions in relevant MS Office applications, i.e., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, and Outlook.
  • Possess financial managerial skills, including budgets. A basic knowledge of accounting and contracting is a plus.
  • Experience managing multiple time sensitive projects
  • Able to communicate both verbally and in writing, with good interpersonal skills
  • Ability to effectively present information to top management
  • Must display tact and self-discipline necessary to interface effectively with customers, vendors, and all levels of management, and employees.
  • Ability to develop process maps.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute a project plan, to the successful conclusion of on-time-delivery, on budget, and customer satisfaction.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to establish effective communications with multicultural customers located in different time zones.
  • Up to 15% travel may be required
