Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a qualified Project Manager to support internal corporate initiatives. The Project Manager will be responsible for leading multiple complex projects, such as financial and HR systems integration, software enhancements, organizational design initiatives, and financial audit readiness projects. In addition, the Project Manager will help to write processes, develop project management templates, and assist with enterprise project management office responsibilities.  The ideal candidate uses strong management consultant skills, such as problem solving, actionable planning, and interpersonal skills to produce tangible results.

 

Key Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of project charters, resource plans, budget estimates, stakeholder analysis, communication plans, risk management plans, process maps, work breakdown structures, deliverable definition, requirements traceability matrices, test plans, implementation plans, and training plans.
  • Collaborate with IT, Finance, Accounting, HR, and other Abt organization subject matter experts in the development of project plan elements and statements of work.
  • Monitor and control all project activities including third-party vendors.
  • Monitor and control project budgets including purchase requisitioning, accruals tracking, and invoice payments.
  • Accurately maintain project tracking data and report status as appropriate.
  • Perform regular and ad hoc executive level Project Sponsor updates.
  • Manage risks and solve problems.
  • Drive the project to successful completion on time and on budget.

Requirements

Preferred Skills / Prerequisites

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in relevant project management, including 3 years participating in IT projects.
  • Expert level knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and MS Project.
  • Demonstrated experience with complex Excel functionality such as pivot tables, vlookups, and nested “if” statements
  • Demonstrated experience with financial analysis, including revenue/cost reporting, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
  • Expert level knowledge of Project Management methodologies
  • Prior experience interacting with, and reporting to, executive level stakeholders and sponsors.
  • Prior experience managing third-party vendors.
  • Prior experience managing large cross-functional teams.
  • Prior experience managing multiple concurrent projects.
  • PMP Certification preferred.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Prior experience with Lean Six Sigma concepts and/or working in a CMMI certified organization


Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Technology, or related field or 10+ years’ experience managing related projects.
