Basic Purpose

The Project Manager is the forefront member of a cross-functional team responsible for the successful delivery of projects aimed to reduce fraud losses.

The Project Manager must possess strong organizational skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, work well with clients and internal teams, and work effectively both independently and as part of a team.  The ability to independently build and maintain productive relationships with multiple stakeholders is essential, as well as strong business presence.  The Project Manager also has to have the ability to balance simultaneous projects and in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities

1.Help manage projects for Security Fraud Division, from small-scale process improvements to large scale system implementations, providing project management plan, issues/risk management, and stakeholder management. (60%)
  a. Develop and manage project plans
  b. Ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with customers' expectations, timelines & budget constraints
  c. Identify, communicate and resolve technical, tactical, operational, and project issues and risks , escalating items appropriately and efficiently
  d. Manage contracts, develop RFIs, RFPs, and assess their impact on projects
  e. Communicate project status to ensure all stakeholders stay appropriately informed; successfully facilitate group meetings and translate details to ensure flow of information
  f. Establish productive and collaborative relationships with peers in wider NFCU business and Security Fraud Division

2.Gather and document data, technical, and business requirements, functionality and/or controls for the Security Fraud Division. Develop and evaluate information, and prepare recommendations based on analysis for use in decision making. (25%)
  a. Perform qualitative and quantitative data analysis using analytical techniques and tools
  b. Gather requirements, build test plans, and lead user acceptance testing
  c. Solve business problems by defining the problem, interviewing stakeholders, identifying and evaluating alternatives, and presenting findings
  d. Identify and analyze opportunities for new and/or improved processes, data, or technology; provide clear picture of possible outcomes
  e. Interpret results of analysis; present recommendations, alternatives and implications

3. Support various process improvement initiatives to align Security Division goals and processes with wider Security and NFCU organization. (15%)
  a. Utilize business process reengineering techniques, model business processes, and conduct data analysis to examine end-to-end business processes to improve efficiency and operations
  b. Act as catalyst for effective alignment between groups: help expose needs, interdependency, limitations, constraints, and mitigate potential silo approaches
  c. Provide follow-up to monitor the progress of planned improvement implementations to provide support, assure timely action, and quantify expected benefits
  d. Collaborate with functional areas to develop and maintain performance metrics
  e. Document and analyze processes and workflows to understand current/future states and input/output, in order to  improve and/or automate business performance
  f. Regularly review processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and efficiency

Requirements

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree required
• Minimum of 4 years industry experience, preferably in the consulting or financial industry
• Significant experience in leading projects and/or initiatives of small to medium scope
• Significant experience in leading multiple projects simultaneously
• Advanced skill in project management to include establishing and leading project teams; managing timelines/deadlines/resources; ensuring successful project implementation
• Analytical skills: capacity to identify issues and underlying roots, prioritize issues, develop hypothesis for both the issue and potential solution, quickly gather requirements, lead testing efforts, and develop recommendations
• Familiarity with workflow concepts and design: lead times, input/output relations
• Significant experience in identifying process efficiency opportunities and risk remediation
• Effective skill in producing desired results and achieving goals and objectives
• Effective skill presenting to stakeholders & management
• Excellent writing and interpersonal skills, including clear and effective communication skills
• Excellent organizational and attention to detail skills
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to handle high volume of work and multi-task a variety of assignments, as well as recognize priorities and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
• Excellent computer skills a must (including Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Visio, knowledge/experience setting up databases, tables, and presentations)
• PMP Certification desired
