The Wake Forest University School of Medicine's Project Manager III role is responsible for the successful implementation and evaluation of programs and initiatives to support the academic mission of the WFUSM. The PMIII role will be embedded within the Strategic Initiatives and Project Management as part of the School of Medicine Administration.  This individual will work closely with administrative and faculty leaders across the School to provide comprehensive project management support including the development and administration of project plans, establishing milestones and benchmarks, and creating timelines, report that meet key project adjectives.  

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  1. Assumes major responsibility for the successful and timely completion of tasks that comprise the development, implementation, and evaluation of the activities encompassed by a given project or initiative.  

  1. Develops and maintains project timelines and key milestones that would indicate successful project implementation.  

  1. Translates planning and design decisions into concrete activities and tasks for project implementation and sets priorities for project implementation.  

  1. Designs and implements strategies for data collection to evaluate the impact of individual programs and initiatives.  

  1. Develops data collection forms, procedural manuals, and other documents required for project management.  

  1. Prepares information materials (e.g. presentations, project reports) about individual programs and initiatives and prepares summaries of project activities.  

  1. Ensures that all aspects of project management activities are conducted with the highest professional standards and in accordance with state and federal regulations and guidelines, as appropriate.  

  1. Performs other related duties incidental to the work described herein 

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills  

  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills  

  • Interfaces with a wide range of personnel within and outside the School of Medicine 

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed environment  

  • Requires the use of judgment and discretion in performing the assigned duties and responsibilities Training and expertise in the application of quantitative evaluation methods  

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Hybrid Schedule
  • Clean, well lit office environment  

Requirements

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:  

  • Bachelor’s degree in project management, business administration or equivalent, plus a minimum of four years of relevant administrative and project management experience. 

  • Experience in a higher education or academic medical center environment preferred 

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

  • PMP Certification
