Job Purpose
Under minimal direction, is responsible to lead cross-functional project teams to plan, execute, and monitor projects, and to ensure project goals are achieved. Manages the overall delivery of multiple or complex projects, with decision-making empowerment although not a functional manager of project team members. Presents project status, manages the project change process, manages sponsor expectations, and escalates issues that impact timing or budget to management as appropriate. Project assignments may vary in length and complexity but are generally not permanent.

Job Functions and Responsibilities

1. Works with cross-functional teams to develop and execute the project plan for each stage of the assigned project. Monitors project activity and ensures milestones are being met. Project assignments may be for continuous improvement, cross-functional business needs, or new business development product launches. (Essential) 50%

2. Utilizes a variety of communication and organizational methods, including project management software, as appropriate. Maintains visual and written project communication systems for team and management reporting. Collaborates with other Project Managers to improve company project management processes to attain best in class levels of performance. (Essential) 30%

3. As a part of the New Product go-to-market process, coordinates with others or independently set-up item numbers in the ERP system for either pass-through or manufactured items. (Essential) 10%

4. Coordinates with others or independently perform work as a Change Coordinator for cross-functional Change Requests. Tasks may include: publishing Operations' ISO quality documents including work instructions, literature, and forms; Bill of Material or labor route setup; inventory receiving inspection. (Essential) 10%

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, & Worker Characteristics

-Thorough knowledge of project management methodologies and best practices. Familiarity with process management and change management. Experience with project management software. Confidence and knowledge to provide advice for Associate Project Managers.

-Excellent communication skills to convey information to sponsors, stakeholders, project team members and broader audiences in an effective and professional manner. -Excellent leadership skills to oversee and coordinate tasks as well as motivate and encourage the team to define the activities that will be required to complete the project goals.

-Excellent organizational and time-management skills to multitask, prioritize tasks, act as the central hub of information, and compartmentalize projects while managing multiple projects at a time, and document everything for team access and future reference.

-Excellent problem-solving skills to elicit factual information, discuss pros and cons, and then formulate the best solution that can be implemented.

-Excellent interpersonal skills to bring a team together, move them in one direction together, and align goals with Whip Mix’s organizational goals. Needs to have proven skills in delegation, conflict management, and coaching others.

-Experience working in a regulated industry – ideally medical devices. Desired experience with an original equipment manufacturing or distribution environment. Familiarity with quality management principles.

-General knowledge of ERP functions relating to self-manufacturing products or distribution as a reseller.

Summary Education & Experience Required

Bachelor’s Degree with an emphasis on Project Management and/or Certification as Project Management Professional (PMP). Minimum of three years’ experience.

Working Conditions

Office and manufacturing plant environment. Ability to travel for training or assisting other facilities. Requires the ability to frequently walk through the manufacturing plant, and climb stairs as needed. Potential exposure to noise requiring use of hearing protection. Must wear safety glasses and safety toe shoes in production areas.
