Schurz Communications has an immediate opening for a full time Project Manager. A successful candidate will work within the Information Technology Department managing the planning, coordination, and implementation of IT and Corporate strategic projects to ensure business goals and objectives are accomplished within designated timeframes. The candidate will be a key member of a team of matrixed resources. They will be able to immerse themselves in the processes and procedures of individual functions in order to create cohesive systems that bring clarity across all teams.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Create a sense of confidence on the part of senior leadership that projects will be successful and contain a high degree of quality
  • Successfully build relationships and manage expectations
  • Direct matrixed project teams to define project scope, deliverables, schedules, budgets, and quality measures
  • Manage daily activities of matrixed project team, ensuring appropriate tasks are being completed and delivered in an effective and timely manner
  • Implement and execute a project communication plan to drive clear, consistent, and accurate status reporting on a regular basis for senior leadership
  • Provide continual communication and coordination with various departments and/or subsidiaries to ensure effective progress
  • Quickly identify variances, and work with team to develop corrective action plans, and immediately escalate project variances to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget
  • Anticipate potential issues and ensure timely mitigation plans are developed, reviewed and implemented
  • Drive process improvement initiatives within the project management domain. Capture lessons learned and apply to future activities
  • Develop and Follow project management discipline, to ensure consistency across all implementation projects

You will need to have:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Process Engineering, or equivalent experience required
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) or Prince 2 Certification required
  • Minimum of 7 years experience leading large, complex projects from initiation to closing stage required
  • Minimum of 7 years exposure to large technology-related project management required
  • Experience facilitating project planning meetings, preparing presentations, and presenting to various audiences including C-level office
  • Experience designing and implementing clear and easy-to-navigate project artifact and information repositories
  • Experience with coaching and coordinating the work of others
  • Experience managing difficult and/or challenging relationships
  • Experience with contract negotiation and best practices

Even Better If You Have:

  • Prior experience in a consulting role highly desirable
  • Certifications in ITIL and Lean Six Sigma a plus
  • Proven commitment to communicate openly and regularly
  • Proven critical thinking, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • Proven ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
  • Keen awareness of how project management can have a major impact on the project
  • Highly self-motivated and directed with the ability to exercise independent judgment and take action
  • Keen awareness of variances and the ability to provide corrective action solutions
  • Keen awareness of project's alignment to the organization's strategic goals
