The Public Service Sector consulting practice is a trusted advisor to federal, state and local governments, partnering to meet challenges and responding quickly to citizen demands, business needs, new economic conditions, and changing legislative priorities and policies.

We are seeking an experienced project manager responsible for coordinating execution of IBM tasks, contributing to direction and success, coordinating the project workstream plans and handling project interdependencies. You'll also manage advanced project issues, and ensure project communications with the Business and IT sponsors. In addition, you'll lead resources in the performance of CDW design and implementation assignments and activities, including:

  • Management the technical direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.
  • Defines project scope and objectives
  • Develops detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking and analysis.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Provides technical and analytical guidance to project team.
  • Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.

As the Project Manager you'll also utilize business knowledge aligned to business objectives, processes, measurements and tools to analyze client business issues, formulate hypotheses and testing conclusions to determine appropriate solutions, and collaborate with and advise improvement project sponsors, managers, and leaders to prioritize, shape and deliver continuous process improvement projects.

Required Professional and Technical Expertise
  • 5+ years of project/program manager experience.
  • 3+ years of demonstrated experience applying process improvement methodologies and process reengineering methodologies.
  • 3+ years of experience with improvement workshops and other interactive sessions with subject matter experts, project sponsors, customers, and other key stakeholders to understand current state processes, process and customer pain points, and future state requirements in order to identify and implement improvements.
  • 2+ years of experience assessing and leveraging both mainstream and emerging technology advancements (especially AI, analytics and automation/robotics) with a strategic mindset to transform or optimize business designs.
  • Experience in leading Data Analytics, Data Warehousing engagements and Data Integration.
  • Broad-based general technology ecosystem and industry understanding.
  • Experience building go-to-market strategy, developing opportunities pipeline.
  • Experience in developing new offerings.


Preferred Professional and Technical Expertise
  • Experience with Public Sector Clients (US Federal, Higher Education, State and Local Governments).
  • General knowledge and experience with leading automation software products.
  • Continuous Improvement knowledge and/or certifications (Lean Six Sigma, Lean).
  • Familiar with business designs: business models, functions, processes, job roles and customer interactions as well as how they are impacted by digitization, AI/automation and emerging technologies/techniques.
  • 3+ years of experience in interacting with executive level clients.
