Primary Function:  The Project Manager / Director, Project Management will lead the planning, design, execution, and monitoring of projects related to startup of divisional operations, primarily dining locations, and corporate operations.  The Project Manager / Director, Project Management will also support a variety of special client and internal projects, such as the Rocket Mortgage Classic, technology upgrades, and company-wide events. The Project Manager / Director, Project Management will be part of the Corporate Support Services team, which works to serve our internal guests: the operators of our business. As part of this team, the ideal candidate will work passionately to identify ways to streamline the design and construction process, improve organizational communication and expectation-setting, and teach the organization the tools and best practices used in project management.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and Proposal Support: Work with operations to perform site surveys to help design proposed layout of new spaces with equipment specifications, electrical, data, plumbing, etc., and create comprehensive and clear scopes of work (“SOW”) for every client project.
  • Installation Support: Partner with operations and the Purchasing team to support material take off, ordering, expediting, and the receipt/staging/prepping of materials and equipment.
  • Construction Administration: Support the general contractor and client construction team; performing on-site supervision, clarification of SOW commitments, and coordination of resources.
  • Coordinate and Lead Project Team: Develop detailed, digital project plans and schedules for every project, coordinate statuses with the project team throughout the life of the project, and conduct post-completion assessments of the project’s success, identifying opportunities for improvement in future projects.
  • Manage Bid Process: Develop equipment bid forms and manage bid process in partnership with the Purchasing team.
  • Site Inspections: Perform site inspections to supervise equipment installation.
  • Invoicing: Review and approve vendor invoices as well as coordinate client billing with the Accounting department.
  • Other duties, as required.



  • Bachelor’s degree required (architecture, business, or project management preferred).
  • PMP certification highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years progressive work experience in related area.
  • 5+ years’ experience with space planning, material / equipment specification, and construction logistics / process.
  • Design background preferred, including a deep understanding of the design and construction process.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Exhibits leadership ability and strong meeting facilitation skills.
  • Proficient in MS Project, Smartsheet, or a comparable PM tool is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (desirable, but not required).
  • Familiarity with configuring OPTO store fixture systems very desirable.
