Project Manager – Parks

Reporting to the Manager of Capital Services – Parks and Facilities, the Project Manager - Parks is responsible for the following:

  • Oversight of municipal capital parks and trail projects.
  • Prepares, analysis and provides recommendations on applicable procurement documents.
  • Ensures designs of municipal construction projects align with short- and long-term goals related to asset management, climate change and GHG reductions.
  • Responsible   for the contract administration   and the coordination of Capital Project Management files.
  • Identifies, research, analyses, and   makes   recommendations   of annual capital projects.
  • Prepares standards, policies, and specifications for municipal facility projects, including review and recommending new materials for acceptance.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 Salary Range:$80,571 - $100,682 (Grade 12; 2022 Rate) *under review*

 

This is a full-time permanent unionized position and as such the successful candidate will be required to maintain active status as a member of the Canadian Union of Public Employees (Local 905.23).

 

This position is subject to providing proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 in alignment with the Township Policy ADM-POL-163, COVID-19 Vaccination. Successful candidates will be required to be fully vaccinated with a Health Canada or the World Health Organization approved COVID-19 vaccine series with the final dose at least 14 days prior to your start date. To maintain ongoing fully vaccinated status, the successful candidate must also receive each dose/booster that may be required or recommended by Public Health. The Township will consider cases requiring accommodation as stipulated by relevant employment standards legislation or regulation and/or the Ontario Human Rights Code.

Requirements

The successful applicant will possess:

  • Post secondary diploma or degree in Landscape Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Minimum of seven (7) years of parks and trails services experience including minimum of three (3) years of supervision and project administration experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Occupational Health & Safety Act, provincial statutes and other regulations that are in accordance with job responsibilities is required.
  • A thorough working knowledge of the construction industry and regulations.
  • Understanding   of technical   terminology   and       the   Ontario   Planning   Act, Ontario Building Code, Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act, Green House Gas reduction calculations and planning is required.
