Essential duties and Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains project plans related to patient access services including a detailed schedule of tasks, owners, and objectives for the revenue cycle teams.
  • Predict resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner
  • Assists with determining project needs and various resources
  • Support process improvements in scheduling operations across Access Services, including assessment, focused analytics (e.g. staffing levels), design and support in implementation
  • Working with departmental (Physician/faculty, Administrator, and other clinical staff) and site leadership (Patient Access Manager) to design and implement improvement initiatives focused on streamlining Patient Access operations and meeting Access Services performance goals
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan including milestone dates, status and resource allocation, including scheduling of attendees, rooms, meetings, and equipment. 
  • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
  • Works with the Revenue Cycle Vendor Coordinator to manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables as necessary.
  • Coordinates project activities with various departments included in the project to include planning, tracking communications, tasks, educations and training, delivery and installation of new software, software updates, and software moves to production systems. 
  • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
  • Monitor progress and make adjustments as needed
  • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
  • Responsible for working with departmental physicians and administrative leadership to optimize and maintain physician master templates, including check-ups to ensure templates continue to meet organizational protocols.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, information systems related program, or related professional healthcare field focusing on project management and resource planning activities or specific healthcare activities.
  • Three years or more of project coordination experience, or analyst experience in information systems related healthcare environment.
  • Two to three years of Patient Access experience related to clinical processes, operations or analytic role in the health center environment that includes scheduling, collections, front end registration, and referral authorizations.


  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification, or Project Management Certified Associate Project Management (CAPM) certification, or Project Management Professional certification (PMP).
  • Epic Cadence Proficiency status required within 180 days from hire.
